After losing a head-to-head recruiting matchup with archrival Louisville Monday morning, Kentucky evened the score when Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Cypress Bay 3-star wide receiver Alex Montgomery (6-2, 190) chose the Wildcats over the Cardinals Monday afternoon.

The Sunshine State standout's stock increased dramatically after a performance that saw him catch nine passes for 199 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in the Florida Class 8A state title game.
Montgomery, who was fresh off an official visit to Louisville, visited Lexington on the weekend of Jan. 18. He also had offers from Ole Miss, Rutgers and Wake Forest among others.
Montgomery is the second wide receiver commitment in Kentucky's 2013 class and the 16th commitment overall.
He is the eighth Floridian in the class and is rated as an 85 by 247sports.
