KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Life without Nerlens Noel begins in earnest for Kentucky at one of the Southeastern Conference's most difficult venues, demanding the Cats to respond to their misfortune right away.

The Cats (17-7, 8-3) will try to win their seventh consecutive game over rival Tennessee but will need to fend off the Volunteers (13-10, 5-6) without Noel, who tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee at Florida on Tuesday. The challenge becomes even more daunting with the recent play of Tennessee forward Jarnell Stokes, who has averaged 17.5 points and 11.7 rebounds in recording six consecutive double-doubles.

I expect Cal to go to WCS early to try and get Stokes in foul trouble. I also expect him to run more plays for Wiltjer. This team is going to have to be more efficient on offense if they hope to be successful. We will see.

The first start of Jarrod Polson's career. He's outplayed Ryan Harrow of late, but sitll a pretty stunning change; Wiltjer in for Poythress.
This has motivational tactic written all over it for Calipari. Can't say I blame him. Little else has worked. Harrow is so fragile though, you wonder how this will affect him.

Doug Shows now ejects John Robic. The bad blood between Shows and Kentucky's staff just keeps going deeper. And you can't blame the anger.

The SEC has a real issue with the Shows/Kentucky thing. THird time this year there has been an issue. That can't happen.
