Kemp chose UK over USF, Pitt and West Virginia.
Kentucky landed a huge commitment and its second in a matter of minutes Friday night when DeLand (Fla.) 3-star all-purpose back JoJo Kemp gave his verbal pledge to the Wildcats.
While he wasn't the highest-rated prospect left on UK's board, he may have been the most important. The explosive 5-foot-10, 190-pounder was UK's lone running back target and is tailor-made for new offensive coordinator Neal Brown's offense.
Kemp chose the Wildcats over South Florida, Pittsburgh and West Virginia in addition to scholarship offers from the likes of Tennessee, Nebraska and Mississippi State among others.
He is the 19th known commitment for the Wildcats and the second running back in Kentucky's 2013 recruiting class. Kentucky had seven of their 19 current commitments, including Kemp, on campus for official visits the weekend of Jan. 11.
The Florida prospect is rated an 86 overall and the No. 23 all-purpose back in the country by 247Sports.
