In the aftermath of Kentucky's victory over Samford on Tuesday coach John Calipari continually commented that his team needed to be in better shape and would begin a 7 a.m. conditioning regimen for the foreseeable future.
The Cats are only a couple of days into those workouts and Calipari wants to reserve judgment on how his squad reacts over the long haul but the early returns have been positive.
"Good. Good," Calipari said when asked how the workouts were going. "It's really more of a mindset. It's not going more than an hour in the morning. A lot of it is the mental part of training in the morning., mentally tougher, mentally stronger, not letting go of the rope, stuff like that. They practiced good yesterday. Its what we need right now."
