Heard is likely to sit out the 2013 season and have two years of eligibility remaining.
Nebraska junior running back Braylon Heard, who left the Huskers program in February, will enroll at Kentucky, a source within the UK program confirmed to CatsPause.com Thursday.
Heard (5-11, 185) finished 2012 with 348 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 52 carries.
Originally a member of the 2010 class, Heard was rated as the No. 31 overall prospect in the country by 247Sports and a 4-star recruit out of Youngstown (Ohio) Cardinal Mooney, alma mater of UK coach Mark Stoops and tight ends coach Vince Marrow.
Heard is the second Cardinal Mooney product, behind 2013 signee Marcus McWilson, to land in Lexington.
He is expected to sit out the 2013 season and have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
