I like them, but it sounds like the major changes were to the padding and protection, while more subtle changes were made to the outward appearance. I've linked some info on the new Nike Talon cleats they will be using.

definetely a major let down, IMO. Nothing here screams out to recruits that is for sure. I hope they at least wear black socks and cleats this year.

There was a poster on the other site that said we would have a alternate Black uni. He goes by Will and is friends with some of the players. IMO they would look sweet.

It has to be a false rumor. There are only 8 combos at best, though from the unveiling, it looks like they'll stick with just two looks (typical UK marketing there, instead of having 8 players rocking 8 combos, they just throw 2 out there).

For the record, I see these as a slight improvement over the current versions. Like the white lids, even though they would have been better with the power K. But............color me underwhelmed. The blue on blue on blue look week in, week out continues to look a little too MAC-ish to me. Would love to see white helmets, blue jerseys, white pants as the standard home uni, but not holding my breath given the way they displayed them today. Don't know why they are so hell bent on wearing all one color.

Also, don't understand why UK refuses to spice things up with an alternate look on occasion (i.e., something with silver or black). SEC foes wearing alternates in recent years include Tennessee, LSU, Georgia, Ole Miss, Miss. St., South Carolina, and Florida. Then other little programs like Ohio St., Va. Tech, Boise St., Fla. St., Miami, Clemson, Michigan, etc. have done them from time to time. But not at UK, we're above that. It's blue and white or die.

Nike obviously reserves its "creativity" for its marquee programs. Nike had an intern come up with these new designs with 30 minutes of effort, and now they'll let Buffalo copy them like they previously did. And here, UK football, we came up with this checkerboard design for your basketball unis a few years ago, let's just slap that on there again. Oh, it's an ode to Secretariat, nevermind that the checkboard pattern is more commonly associated with that program in Knoxville that has beaten you 86 years in a row.

I was a little too critical of the blue uniforms at first. The first few pictures I saw, they didn't really look too different. But I have had a change of heart since seeing Jeff's photo album. There are some nice, subtle changes, that are hardly noticeable from afar, but up close look really nice. With that said, I can't wait for our first serious road test. Those white uniforms are really sharp.

I like them both, I'm REALLY glad they didn't go to that 80's looking "K" that everyone else seemed to like. . . and I'm sure they are gonna change up the combos some this year, going against what all of the super positive people around here think. . . Not sure what everyone was expecting, to think that these aren't good enough??? I think they could let some of the fans here design them and then those same fans still wouldn't like them. . . Just gotta complain no matter what sometimes. . .

And when they said the "newest nike technology" what did you expect? new technical colors, or patterns? Technology refers directly to the design of the equipment as far as safety and performance, not of looks. . .

I do like the fact that the stripe is gone from the sides of the jersey. Also glad they added a white stripe on the blue helmet. I would prefer a blue face mask on the white helmet but overall I think they are an improvement to what was being worn.
