******** UK SIGNING DAY HQ 2012 ********

  • Programs like WKU will reap the benefits when the NCAA goes to a hard cap of 25 for all programs.

You should've seen his portion of the signing ceremony at MLK. He put the UK hat on, then took if off and replaced it with one from NC State. Hate the whole "hat trick" thing.

Yeah that crap is so played.

  • Drop them because it is another game where the opposition will scheme and work for a year to beat us and we are in a no win situation. If we beat them it doesn't help us but if they win it elevates their program and yes it makes it harder to recruit in Kentucky. Did you go to the last game in Nashville? Western could have easily won that game except for a couple of dropped passes. UK has never been in a spot to help anyone in football. It is just our arrogant athletic department that thinks like that. There is no question that the UL game was used as the cornerstone to help build ULFB. There are a hand full of good football players in Kentucky and if WKU gets two a year it hurts us.

Allegedly today during his ceremony Ace Wales said "if Charlie strong is going to keep going to Florida to get Players, us Louisville players are going to go to WKU"

    huh

Uh, Ace, there is a 3rd option y'know, one that recruited you pretty heavily for a long long time, and will always recruit Louisville players every year....

    Orrrrrrrrrrrrrr....

How 'bout don't wait to February and accept a scholarship offer that was out there forever (from UK as well).

  • Yep, Ace went for the drama of signing day. He could have accepted a ride to UL or UK during or before the season and his injury wouldn't have mattered. He forced everyone to recruit as if he wasn't coming and when he was ready both UL and UK had backs committed and Ace had a bum shoulder. Tough spot.

It would have hurt the development of football in KY.

The biggest disappointment for me today was Jarnor Jones. That kid can play. Really wish we could have nabbed him. Oh well.

Yeah. I think he was a potential gem. The hat thing still bugs me a bit, but they're kids. We were all foolish like that back in the day.

We need to end this series with Western. In a state like Kentucky there aren't enough players for one program much less 3. The contract to play them four years with two in Nashville was one of the most foolish moves UK has made. Last year's game was an embarrassment for multiple reasons. They don't need our help. I remember when we started playing a pitiful UL program as a sort of favor to them. UL was considering dropping the sport just a few years before we put them on the schedule.

    afraid wku will win?

  • Did you see the game last year? They came close. I am not afraid of losing to them but it doesn't help UK which is my concern.

The 'Cats are better at most every position than WKU, and have QUITE an advantage as far as scholarship players. Give it two years, and that might not be the case, if WKU keeps recruiting like they are currently.

    Keep Calm & Stoops On..
