was the Tyler inclusion a missprint? we haven't heard anything about him in forever.

  • Towles doesn't look right in my mind with 14. Wasn't he #8 in HS? /picky.

Tyler will be back on the team is my understanding.

No, he's back. But his eligibility will be decided by his successfully finishing some hours this summer. They don't expect that to be a problem if he does what he's supposed to.

  • I know we need him at DB but I hope Tiller gets some snaps at Wr & I'm sure he'll get looks at PR & KR. Kid is a stud athlete.

  • Interesting to see Travaughn Paschal to LB, i thought he was DE. Although im sure he'll play with his hand on and off the ground both

Looking over that roster man you can really see the effect coach Rock has with these kids. Shaq.Love over 300 & King over 220. Love is going to be a monster OG before it's all said and done.

    Whitaker568

  • Towles is wearing 14 because that was his gramdfather's # number when he was in the major leagues.

They moved him to the hybrid DL/LB position this spring. He backs up Dupree.

the profile on here says King was 194, so he added 25ish pounds in school and you know it is mostly muscle, scary. Shaq gained 30-40 pounds in an offseason, again saying that is more then likely muscle weight, not fat O_o Holy christ!! flex weights_barweights heck, maybe warford could side outside to play RT, Smith at C, eatmon and Shaq at G and Miller at the other tackle. If nothing else, we could put an extra TE on the right to help the weaker RT and mainly run the ball with the stable of backs we have. #groundandpound please twocents

  • All the Blaylocks will be wearing a 7. That will be sorta confusing.

OMG!!! i didn't even catch that. That had to be planned, no way it wasn't. Chapman, Henderson, Foster, and Reed's numbers are very telling to me. all took numbers of really good players here in recent years, Pryor, Danny T, Tydlacka, and Burden respectively

I understand that. It'll just take some getting used to for me. That's all.

  • Nice to see info like this start trickling out. It won't be long until Fall camp gets kicked off. With that in mind, which 5 players is everyone the most interested in hearing about during Fall camp? I assume Towles is on everyone's list, so for the sake of keeping it interesting, let's exclude him from this discussion. I'll go with (in order of how interested I am in hearing about their progress, skills, speed of developing, learning the playbook, etc.):

    1. Whitlow - To me, he is the most intriguing prospect in this class. I don't see any way he plays QB for us, except for Wildcat type situations, but he brings a lot to the table and is the type of player who, like Cobb, could see the field very early as a playmaker.

    2. Henderson - I know he needs to add a little size, but he just SCREAMS Trevathan 2.0 at the WLB spot in our D. I don't expect to see him as an impact player this year, but I do believe he will have a similar development as what we saw with DT where he is too good to keep off the field his first year and then blossoms as he moves forward.

    3. Tiller - We need immediate help at CB and in the ST return game. He is both, and depth at both spots is scarce, to say the least. He could very well leapfrog a bunch of people if he learns the system quickly and comes to work.

    4. Sweat - We need immediate help at WR and ST returns. Like Tiller, he provides instant help at 2 important spots. The question will be how quickly he picks up the WR playbook as it is VERY difficult in our system as the WR's have a lot of assignments to learn re: routes, blocking, communicating with the QB at the LOS, etc.

    5. Legree - Similar to Sweat, only I don't expect him to factor in the ST return game. Nonetheless, he is an incredible athlete and we need playmakers at WR in a HUGE way. Its that simple. If he learns the responsibilities of the WR position in our offense, he could contribute. I simply do not want to see another year of us waiting on "vanilla WR's" like McCaskill and Fields to make plays. I'm ready for these younger guys (Collins, Robinson, Cunningham, Sweat, Legree, Cobbins, etc.) to grab the bull by the horns and bring some excitement back to our offense.

Summed it up quite nicely. I'd add in Watson and Chapman.

Yeah, they were the "first 2 out" on my list. If I could have named 7, they would have been on it. Almost put Watson above Legree, just b/c we need help on the OL BIG TIME, and he appears to be college ready (physically).

Whitlow is without a doubt #1 in my mind. Then I'd got with Sweat #2, Tiller #3, Towles #4 and Watson #5. Henderson doesn't make my top 5 only because I think it will take him some time to bulk up before he's able to make a difference. The top 3 are guys we need to just flat have a nose for making plays immediately. That probably unfair but we need some difference makers. Mobley would be #6 for me probably.

Yeah, when I go back and watch Whitlow's highlight tapes, I see a lot of Cobb in him in that he simply has a nose for making plays and doing something special. He could go on to be a flop, but at this point I think he was the steal of the class for us and that he will be a household name around the SEC in a couple of years like Cobb became.

  • Ive talked to Dakota several times on twitter and he has always been adamant about coming back and playing. Last time I talked to him he said he was doing good and on track and should be back.
