going to be hard to get to 6 wins people. The Lville game will be huge.

  • Season swings on same games it has last few years.

    Uofl,
Miss state, vandy, Tennessee, South Carolina...

    hoptownukfan

  • Well we are undefeated so far and I think we will remain that way after we play Western KY.biggrin

MIzzou as well, if you are going to get to 6 wins you have to beat Mizzou at home

  • Reserved my Season Tix this week. Not worried about W's & L's next year. More concerned about how motivated and prepared the guys are coming out of the tunnel on game day. Need to win WKU, Miami (OH) and Alabama St. UL, Vandy & Mizzou are the next most winnable, IMO.

  • Brutal schedule next year, toughest I can ever recall actually. While I think our team will be much improved, especially if we get Neil Brown, our defense is going to have to rank in the top 40 (in total D and scoring D) for us to win at least 6 games. Also, we'll need at least a positive turnover differential.

It's a good thing that WKU lost Taggert and they will be graduating their QB (IMO he wasn't that good) and their entire starting Dline, but they aren't losing much else so it will very tough going on the road to beat them in game #1 when we have a drastically new offense and switching from the 3-4 to the 4-3 on defense.

Louisville is going to have their best team of all-time on paper (they don't lose anything), but their seems to be something out-of-sorts going on over there. They greatly underachieved this season and played one of the easiest schedules in college football, yet their only victories greater than 10 points were against us, Mizzou St (FCS), and Temple. So like I said, something weird is going on behind the scenes there because they should've easily gone undefeated and had a much higher average season scoring differential than just 7 points given how talented they are and how bad their schedule was.

BTW, does anyone know anything about Vandy's QBs next season? Hopefully that position will really drag their team down.

  • The key for next year, for us fans, is to keep up the good feelings. Coach Stoops deserves a honeymoon.

Once again we have one of the hardest schedules in the country. We could see five ranked teams in a row. We could go 2 and 5, but then the schedule lightens some and there'd still be a bowl shot. We gotta hang with the team and let Coach build a foundation.

  • Georgia is also a possible win, I dont remember the last time we havent played UGA close.

  • Tough schedulae..no doubt. I like the 2 open weeks..and when they come..right before Florida and right after that tough, tough 3 game stretch of gators, gamecocks, and Bama. If we can win all 4 non-SEC games..we will be in great shape. I think we upset a big team this year. Catch someone slipping. Bama wont be the same..lose all that killer O-Line. Lose a lot of defenders to NFL. Sure they will just reload..but wont be AS dominate.
If we go 4-0 out of conference..a 7-5, even 8-4 year will not be out of the question. I think we can beat UT, Mizzou, but every other SEc game will be 50-50 at best. I think we upset at least 1 SEC foe..a Florida, Bama, SCjr. if we can take 1 of these 3..that puts us at 4-2 headed into the home stretch..with lots of confidence.
If we fall to UofL, things get tougher. Lose the card game..we could be 2-4 headed into Miss ST, with a bowl game looking doubtful.
I think 6-6 to 8-4 could happen..as a BEST case scenario. A bowl season would go a long way towards expediting the growing process. An extra month of practice helps a ton..especially when your installing a new offense and defense. Helps recruiting.

Doubtful, unless there is a scheduling conflict with Tennessee State again.

On my phone it doesn't show the location of the games just an * which designates neutral site games. Now that I'm on my computer I can see the entire schedule. Maybe time to get a new phone.

Realistically I can see a 6-6 record out of this schedule which I think would be a good year and start to the Stoops era. GO CATS

  • 3 games you should win no matter what:
    WKU
    Miami
    Alabama State

4 games you probably lose no matter what:
    at South Carolina
    Florida
    Alabama
    at Georgia

5 games that can go either way:
    Louisville
    at Mississippi State
    Missouri
    at Vanderbilt
    Tennessee

Worst-case = 4-8. Best case = 7-5. Might as well win 3 of the last group and go bowling.
