4 players I would love to see this staff go after..

  • There are 4 players I would love for this staff to go after pretty hard, Timmons, Quick, Hatcher and Washington. All 4 players are studs and think that Washington would re-commit if wanted by this new defensive staff. Hatcher is going to AA game and is committed to USC, be very nice to flip him.

3 of those 4 are in KY and would go along way to taking complete control of this state in recruiting. Ky doesn't produce a lot of top talent but when it does like this year I believe these kids need to stay in state and rep the state school. Hope now we have a staff that will make this happen.

  • If Eliot comes I would expect him to be chasing bigger fish than Washington.

I've watched Washington play a few times the last few yrs, hes a freaking Beast, if he did flip back to us i promise u, once he hit the field the next 2 yrs u would be thankful he did

  • Elliot may b aftr bigger fish as in high schoolers that are/were rated higher but Waahington is 6'4" + and about 300+ lbs. We need immediate help next along the dl and he has been a stud in juco. Hes the kind of dl we need alot of.

  • We need juco help at d-end and safety. Of we play a 4-3 we need young d-tackles not juco's. by my count we will have either 5 or 6 d-tackles on scholarship. We need to find one or two juco d-ends and two freshmen d-ends. We may also need a juco safety and another young safety.
I am hoping Faulkner flourishes in the news more traditional defense that stoops is going to run.

I also hope miles Simpson can learn to play will linebacker because he can't play safety in the 4-3.

I hope we can get a LB faster than Simpson. He's just too slow to cover anyone from his LB position and is way too slow to play in the secondary.. He is a pretty sound tackler, so, I can see him being a decent special teams player and occassional LB on running downs.. Maybe, if he could add a little weight, he could help at DE..

I also hope we can keep Washington.. I think he'd be a great addition to the DL and would be in the rotation from the get go.. I also hope we can somehow land the twins and a couple of solid LBs and DEs.. I also think we need another WR, losing King, Fields, McKaskill and Boyd.. We have a decent core of young receievers, just not enough of them..

Simpson was a running back in High School and you are saying he is to slow to play linebacker. What is his 40 time?

Simpson is fast enough to play linebacker. What killed us is that we tried to use him, as a "hybrid" to have him cover the slot receiver when opponents went to three or 4 wr. looks. Miles is plenty fast enough to play the Will spot. He wasn't fast enough to cover wr's. in a 4-3 we will have an actual nickle look. Something we didn't have in Minter's f'ed up defense.

Miles Simpson runs in the 4.5 range..hes not slow at all. In fact..hes a pretty darn athletic LB..at what..6'2 230? He will fit nicely into the WLB rotation next year. Josh Forrest too..Khalid Henderson..Malcom McDuffen has 4.4 speed..needs to step up.
We will no doubt pick up a couple late LB additions..heres hoping Skai Moore, Jermaine Grace, Matthew Thomas...one of them comes. Thomas is a 5 star lb and makes no secret of his love for James Coley...its a huge stretch, i know..but there is a hope.
I hope Stoops gets into the Alexander twins ears quick..and thier teammate, DT Deadrin Senat. This would be a huge trio to bring to Lexington. Also..if the impossible happens and Coley comes and gets Matthew Thomas..id think his teammate Denver Kirkland would follow. Things are heating up around UK football..we will find out more after the ACC CG. If Coley and or Eliot comes..this becomes an even greater hire.
WE now seem to be in great shape with Ryan Timmons..and trust me..this kid has IT..hes a weapon.

  • I think it will be fun to watch UK's young DB's grow under Stoops. Harmon..6'2 195 CB, Quinn looks like a find, fast and physical..good open field tackler..Fred Tiller also look smooth at times. Daron Blaylock is athletic as heck and a big hitter, Zach is also a big time hitter with good instincts. Marcus Caffey could be a star too.

  • Ryan Timmons and Khalid Thomas in the same class would be a beautiful thing.
