In it's top 50 college basketball programs of the last 50 years, Kentucky comes in at No. 3 in ESPN's rankings.
UCLA No. 2 and UNC comes in at No. 1.
Seems as though the national media is doing everything in its power to piss UK fans off this summer
Editor's note: Using a point system devised by the ESPN Stats Information department, ESPN.com is counting down the 50 most successful programs
espn.go.comIt seems about right, remember, this only goes back to 1962, and if I am correct, it's only counting 4 of UK's titles. Pretty sure if it went back farther UK would be an easy #1. But some of the rosters of the teams in the last 50 teams are SCARY good. Still can't justify UCLA there with the possible infractions in the Wooden era.

If you only go back 50 years its more understandable. Still don't feel UCLA belongs at 2 though cause they did all their work during one stretch essentially.
Pretty amazing that you're completely disregarding the Rupp era and UK is still No. 3.
Take away Wooden/Smith and there isn't much at UCLA/UNC. UK has had sustained success over almost every decade.

UK has won national championships with 5 different coaches. No one coach wonder like the rest of the blue bloods seem to be outside of UNC and Kansas. Just speaks to the fact that like you said UK has had sustained success over long periods of time. Thats the main reason why UK gets the nod by most accounts in best program ever debates.
