A few of my observations and opinions from the Blue/White game.

  • Shield dropped a short pass

    Kendrick dropped a low pass

But they both made some tough plays and ran well after the catch.

I was actually impressed with TR. He caught everything and wouldn't go down easy.

  • Personally, I've thought for the last 2 years that Kendrick was by far the most athletic of all the TEs and gave them the best offensive weapon. Always wondered why he played behind a few of these others, but, was told, he wasn't as good a blocker as some, but, with UKs QB struggles to pass the ball this last year, you'd think they'd want a guy who poses a threat there and actually utilize that spot a little more.

Does it look like Brause could possibly be the 1 at the other inside spot, or will he only spell Williamson? Kid's a good athlete and as a former QB should have a good understanding of the game and an aptitude for quick decisioin-making.

From Joker's comments today (8/13), looks like they are seeing if Brause can also fit in the rotation at the other inside spot (Will). I am very interested to see if he does work into not only backing up Williamson, but getting on the field at the Will.

I think the staff knows that for us to be successful we have to be a 3 wr one te team that is balanced to slightly pass happy. I liked hearing that we were working from The gun so much.

I for one think our defense takes another step forward off of their improved season Last year. Couple that with a better offense that puts them in better positions and I think we have a shot at having one of the better uk defenses in the last 5 or 6 years.

In terms of success. Joker must get to a bowl to save his job. I see 8-9 winnable games on the schedule. The Petrino situation puts that one in play IMO.

Uofl, the other 3 ooc games, miss. State, mizzou, Tennessee, vandy, ark and uscjr are all winnable IMO. Some much harder than others but we must get 6 of those.

I think you're being highly generous to think we have 8-9 winnable games... You put Ark and SC as winnable and they're both in the preseason Top 10.. Hell, if you consider those winnable, then I'd say we have 12 winnable games, wouldn't we?

I really don't give us much of a shot against Ga, SC, Ark, Tn or Fl.. The other 7 games are winnable.. All 4 non conf games along with Vandy, Miss St and Mizzou and we'll be underdawgs in all 3 of these SEC games and the UL game... We'll be favored in 3 games this year, so, imo, if we get to 6 wins, that's 3 upsets we pulled off, made us Bowl eligible and strongly secures Joker job..Petrino is not even a blimp on UKs map...If Joker were to get fired, Petrino would not even be a candidate, maybe in some fans minds, but, not in the minds of the people who matter..

No one thought we had a chance against a UT team fighting for bowl eligibillity last year. Just saying. we will have a shot at UGA and ARK bc we ALWAYS play them tough NO MATTER how good we or they are. USC is in that group too besides last year, because they wanted revenge for 2010. Fl is down too. We need to play us. We need to play OUR best ball and let the chips fall where they will. people predicting 3-9 are Hilarious. BEAT (insert next team here)!!!

If a game is not winnable - why even play it?

The post you quoted said we didn't have a shot bs. Tennessee or ga. Clearly that guy is ignoring the obvious.

  • Agreed its crazy to think we can't beat UGA with an improved team at home. Its also crazy to think we can't beat UT at UT. Both would be really tough games but they are no doubt winnable. As is every game on the schedule. We don't play Bama or LSU this year. I'd mark those games pretty much unwinnable. But like I said we don't play them so yeah we have 12 winnable games.
