Aaron Gordon isnt a long shot

  • I think some KY fans think Gordon is a longshot to end up in Lex. but I dont believe that is necessarilly the case. Gordon will be here the 2nd weekend of Nov. his final official visit. He lists tradition, style of play, and the ability of the program to get players into the NBA as 3 of his most important reasons in choosing a school, so who fits those things better than UK. In addition Gordon is tight with M. Lee and according to Gordons father that could play a part in his sons decision. Gordon would bring a freakish athleticism and a great motor to the table with an unbelievable upside. The only thing that I see that is a problem with his recruitment is whether UK can get Randle and would Cal take a commitment before Randle decides in the spring, although Gordon will also decide in the spring. The future looks bright with or w/o Wiggins which is another question mark in Gordons recruitment.

  • I think we could convince Aaron himself but convincing his dad will be the hard part I think. He's going to want Aaron somewhere close IMO because of all the crap that happened with Drew. If we can convince dad though do think we have a shot.

I read a quote from his father this am that he and his son wouldnt be coming all the way out here if they werent truly interested in KY. So I agree with you Gordons father will play a major role in whether he comes here or stays closer to home. So it looks like Gordons parents and Wiggins parents will in the most part decide where their sons will go.PS: Great point about his brother.

  • I agree if both come to KY it would be great but its unlikely that both would commit because Gordon if he comes would play the 4 position and I know that Cal has had great success with getting players to come that play the same position but that might be asking a little too much but if it would happen the world would have to agree the class of 2013 is the best ever. I saw a video where Cal and 1 of the Fab Five debated who would have won between AD class or the Fab 5. It was really cool to hear them make their cases.

  • I believe we have zero chance to land both of these top players mainly because both are going to want some serious playing time. I think we chould actually miss on both of these players, I really believe one or even two of our bigs off this years team. Alex P. or Cauley Stein could return and I think Wiggins is a lot more important of a get right now than any other player out there. Wiggins can play mulitiple positions offensively and defensively and I don't see Randle and Wiggins on the same team for a lot of resons. Now Gordan I could because he is way more athletic than Randle and would probably fit in just fine with Wiggins. Wiggins is special I think most of us fans feel that way and most want Wiggins the most of any of the players out there because he is going to reclassify and won't be much longer till he tells the coaches if he hasn't already.

agreedI completely agree that Wiggins is the #1 priority out there. His type of talent comes along only once in a great while. When Sports Illustrated put J. Parker on its cover claiming he was the best since LeBron I just laughed at that and dont get me wrong Parker has a lot of talent but isnt close to Wiggins. I would relly like to see him wear a KY uniform and see how good the 2013 team would be. I think 40-0 would be very possible and 7 players off that team could be 1st rounders in the draft. Ihave to say that I am of the opinion that Poythress and Cauley-Stein both will go in the upcoming draft, because if Orton can go in the 1st round the WCS will surely go in the 1st round and probably even higher than Orton.

  • I could see Cauley-Stein leaving this year just based on how weak the draft class is going to be. I think it's more likely that Wiltjer will be back. Don't get me wrong, I think he's our leading scorer this season, I just don't think he's a high draft pick and it wouldn't shock me to see him back as a junior. I'm also not sold that both Harrow and Goodwin will be ready. Wouldn't be shocked to see one of them come back.

I haven't seen alot of Gordon. Is he comparable to Blake Griffin? That could be fun.

I am of the opinion that we only get one of Wiggins, Randle, Gordon. I would prefer them in that order. Then I think we improve our depth and pick up someone like Roberson.

If we got him and Randle it would be fabulous..

I've said it a million times. Not going to happen.

Chris, what do you think Cal would do if in the spring Gordon calls and says"Coach I want to be a Cat" and this happens prior to Randles decision? Im not sure it would be a clear cut choice but I know that Cal loves Randle and has a good relationship w/him but would he think"A bird in the hand is better than 2 in the bush"? The Wiggins thing is sure like trying to walk on a sheet of ice, you know something is going to happen but will it be good or bad. HAHA!!!
