According to Tucker, an unnamed uk spokesman said "agents are telling their client not to touch it (uk), that it's a dead end job.".

I have a hard time believing anybody within uk athletics is talking to the courier journal.

But if there is a leak from uk it could mean they have their guy .
Folks may feel comfortable talking now.

All that to say. I like Kyle. But I'm betting this report is not accurate. Somebody may well habe talked within uk athletics but im betting that person was speculating, just like everybody else is.

Mitch has reportedly not talked with anybody but capilouto about the search...

Paul Finebaum had an interesting quote tonight. Said he spoke with a few agents and some coaching candidates this weekend. Said the interview process has dramatically changed over the years. He said when a coach gets a call asking to interview, the roles are now reversed. It's no longer the school interviewing the candidate, it's now the candidate and his agent interviewing the school and AD. Said the first thing a coaching candidate asks for today is a thorough analysis from the AD on all the spending he had done on football in hi tenure, ie what new facilities have you overseen and raised money for.

What must candidates think of UK's commitment to football when they pose that question to Mitch?

Per a source inside UK athletics, Butch Jones, Sonny Dykes and Mark Stoops have all said "no thanks" to Kentucky.

If I'm Barnhart, I root out and fire any employee making those comments to Kyle Tucker. It's beyond ridiculous for any employee of UK athletics to make those comments during the midst of a coaching search. Alterior motives by any employee making those comments.

Makes me wonder if macintyre has accepted the job.... You know, everyone else under consideration "pulls" their names before the announcement is made of the hire.

I'm not one to typically make predictions and I certainly don't claim to have sources, but I just got a text from the most involved person I know. Says Stoops has agreed in principal within the last few hrs to be UK's next coach. We'll see?

Come on take one more! Led by JoeB and the COAL millionaires, they have talked the UK board into ignoring MB and the President, and will hire Petrino at the eleventh hour. Will announce at high noon tomorrow, with all the other announcements. :)
