  • Personally I think they should get all of the coaches that you want to hire to be live at their current locations and have college hats in front of them like the high school kids do. At the same time have all of them put on the hat where they will be HC at. Hopefully your school doesn't get left out. lol

  • In talking with some folks who are familiar with uk athletics they feel tucker is being used with this "information". Likely a smoke score. Per my guy, anybody with knowledge of actual names within UK athletics would only talk to the State's largest paper unless they had a motive. Their term was "likely creating smoke screen" for somebody.

    My personal opinion? The "report" is a little to predictable in a process that has been anything but predictable.

    Larry Glover mentioned on his show tonight that he wants to do a show this week on UK athletic spending. Says he has document donors receive that shows UK spends more on Olympic sports combined than what is spent on football. We'll see Wednesday night what he has to say.

    See this bothers me greatly not because it's true (and it is mainly because UK just spent $25 million on the track complex. They had to spend the money because it needed to be replaced my last year on campus.....in 1992!) but because it's piling on and feeding the crazies. You could have easly said that UK spent more on the Olymipc sports than they have on Men's basketball in the same time. And that would be true (but would be a whole lot closer in dollar figures).

    Spot on. Anybody can spin #'s. uk's largest capital expenditure this year was for track. In a given year that throws things out of whack.

    Back to the orignial question. If a coaching candidate or his agent asks Mitch Barnhart to present a detailed overview (dollars spent) on all of the football infrastructure that he has overseen in his 10 years at UK, what will be the response of most candidates?

    "Do you happen to have any pictures of the new facilities that you've had built under your watch as AD of an SEC Football program?"

    Actually he'd have a decent portfolio. Complete renovation and replacement of practice fields. Complete renovation of football facility, complete renovation of nutter indoor facility, replacement of video, sound system and new ribbon boards.

    He also likely has a specific plan on the reported 100 million that will be spent on Cws in the next two years.

    All this with no bonding for uk athletics in nearly 8 years.

  • Lol I hate to throw another name into the mix but I'm 100 percent certain and I don't usually do this, the number of post I've made will reflect that.... But I'm 100 percent on this one .... Strong possibility Mitch Barnhart coaches Kentucky football next season :-)

    I refuse to believe that Mark Stoops as HC and James Coley as OC is a real scenario. Maybe one or the other, and even then, it's probably a long shot.

    To answer your question, it would probably be the biggest coup in Kentucky football history. No, forget probably. Definitely the biggest coup in Kentucky football history.

  • Coley is reputed to be a big-time recruiter. A lot of south Florida connections, having coached in the Miami high school ranks, at FIU, and for the dolphins. Haven't watched FSU enough to have an opinion on his coaching abilities. Butweve been cosmogony for more recruiting firepower, and Coley may be the type of guy to help UK elevate it's recruiting.
