IMO UKs defense playing confused and without enough toughness not calls by the officials was the cause of the Cats disaster on defense. It is true there were some strange calls but IMO they pretty much evened out. The truth is neither the UK team or coaching staff were able to figure out what UofL was doing on offense that was confusing them until after the game was out of hand.

Our backs played very well sans the fumbles. The first man never took them down and they averaged 8 yards+ a carry collectivelly.
The first fumble is how most fumbles happen. Sanders was fighting for more yards. Sanders looked damn good. He was faster and much quicker.
Williams looked good too catching the ball and running. His fumble actually wasn't a fumble. I slowed it down and his knee was down for at least 3 slow mo frames before the ball came out.
In terms of the defense it boils down to three issues.
A. The reason uofl ran the ball so well in the first half is simple. They had us outflanked on every play due to is being lost in terms of how to adjust when they changed the strength of their formation. We were lost. In the second half we adjusted and that helped.
B. our play at will linebacker was awful. This hurt us in the run game and pass game. No more needs to be said
C. Lastly, uofl passed the ball so well because we were terrible in our Pass Rush and our young db's. You can't ask young db's to play coverage for 5 seconds.
I am most worried about #3. We have to generate a Padd rush.

I hate to break it to you but their is no good back that fumbles, period. The quickest way for a back to be forgotten on the bench, no matter how good he thinks he is, if he fumbles during a game in critical situations. UK does not run an option offense were fumbles are part of the game. No excuses for fumbling. The going for more yards BS is just that BS. You do not fumble.
This is not pee wee league.

Louisville had one Or two fumbles. Difference? They recovered their's because they happened close to the Los. Our's Happened way down field and that's why we couldn't recover. I might add, after watching coshik's it actually wasn't a fumble. His knee was down for 3 Frames in my slow mo before the ball came out.
