I don't think you have to go that far. You were always clear that the info was from your former teammates, and that it could be wrong. Even though it didn't turn out, I enjoyed and appreciated your updates.

Over the last month or so, there have been hundreds of posts from many, many posters claiming to have the 'inside scoop'. Hopefully from this experience, we can all learn that 99.9% of what you read on message boards are ... in the end ... only rumors, opinions and speculation.

No need to stop posting, unless you are losing friends over it. I'm not saying someone didn't say his name, but I don't recall seeing Stoops name mentioned by anyone, therefore everyone (or most people) were wrong.

Its nice of you guys to come on and apologize but really anyone who knows how hush hush these types of things are should realize that "sources" are not always right and that negotiations hit snags and that people change their minds overnight, etc etc. Keep your posts going. The only thing you guys are guilty of is loving the BIG BLUE as much as the rest of us, and wanting whats best for the team, school, and fans!

You were very classy with your posts and I appreciated the info you were giving us. And you weren't the only one reporting that info. So don't feel bad. Keep posting and keep sharing info you hear from people. Most of know that we should take that kinda stuff as a grain of salt

I had info from a VERY good source that Stoops was given the job..but Mac had in fact been in line to be our coach had Stoops not decided to answer asap...had Stoops decided to coach FSU's bowl..Mac would be our coach. But Stoops said yes..and lets all celebrate. At least you werent someone putting fake rumors out there..like the Petrino?Jones/Peterson stuff.
I have it from a very good inside source that Mac was in fact gonna be our coach..but Stoops jumped in late. So..in a way..your info was good..it just got out trumped by a late Stoops interest..and who can blame Mitch? Id hire Stoops too..HUGE hire for Uk..in so many ways.
We are the 1st SEC team to fill its HC vacancy..thus giving us a big up in finishing this years recruiting. And you have to think Stoops and staff will pull in some late, big time recruits.
No harm..No foul bro..forgive yourself..we have..lets all get on the Stoops bandwagon till the damned wheels fall off!!!

I appreciate the sentiments guys and also am glad the whole thing is over. Like has been said Stoops is a good hire and should be able to do some good things at KY. On the defensive side of the ball UK should get better right away but, Im not expecting great things for a while. I havent read yet if a OC is in the works yet and if not that should be an interesting topic to discuss. Again Thanks

The important thing man is that you back the hire. Those who said that if they didn't hire Petrino, they were done with UK, are the guys missing out. And who knows, at one time you could have been right but things change and sometimes picking the name is almost impossible. Always tell us what you hear, you are not a johnny come lately on here, we respect what info you receive even if it doesn't come out right all the time.

Hey man , we get it. Don't feel bad and thanks for passing your info . Chatting about the cats is our past time. Plenty of people get info from good sources that doesn't always pan out. For all we know, at the time , Mac may have been the man. Thanks for your input.
