  • A 3-star OL? That would be sweet.

    dustarm20

  • Saw that he picked up an offer from UCF today.

    bigbluerules

  • Very nice. Thanks Jeff

  • Who else offered? Video anywhere? Tia.

    MinterWonderlnd

  • Haven't seen this anywhere else, Jeff. Way to go.

Looks like we got in early, got him on campus, and got the verbal while the campus visit experience was still fresh. Nice pick up and a kid that, with his current size, is really going to blossom in the UK S&C program.

    He'll look good in blue...

    Welcome to the BBN, Ramsey.

"UCF offered Orange Park Ridgeview OL Ramsey Meyers after camp. He was stellar all week. I get the feeling that he'll commit to Kentucky soon" - Brendan Sonnone

  • Heard he did well at Auburn's camp, too. I think Summers found a diamond in the rough here. Kid looks like a road grater.

  • Hell, I'm just happy to see Joker embrace recruiting the state of Florida, finally. You gotta think seeing Charlie strong bringing in all of those kids from south Florida helped change his view. A few yrs ago Joker was asked "why don't you guys recruit Florida more?". He replied that "it didn't make sense to fly over all of those players in Georgia just to recruit Florida.". Obviously, the best approach for uk moving forward is to target Georgia AND Florida heavier than any other states.

and the increasing shift and focus on Ohio as well, although has yet to see much results. Hopefully we break down that wall and get commits like we are from Florida now

  • Uk will have insanely better results getting kids from Florida than Ohio. Crazy, huh?

I think it had more to do with getting the right assistants to push hard in Florida.

true, but just cause you offer a kid doesn't mean you recruited him hard. I think the differfence now is we are affering, and getting after the kids to comittt, where as before, we'd throw out offers, but unless the kid contacted us back with interest, we never paid them much mind.

I disagree. I think it is the recruiting capabilities of the staff in place. That Cassity name keeps being mentioned a lot by the recruits I've read about...

  • I am very hopeful that the staff Joker has assembled over the last few years begins to show great results in both recruiting and play. The kids commiting seemed to be most impressed with the family environment between coaches and players and I like that. I also think that these coaches are doing a great job of evaluating and getting in on kids early, while many other big schools are more after the obvious prima donnas.

  • I love the fact we're recruiting NJ. NJ always has a bumper crop of talent that has zero allegiances to major college programs. With BC, Syracuse, Rutgers and now PSU all in disarray - the time is right to get in there and snag some dudes.

I hate seeing random D1 teams snatching away big time talent from a powerhouse state filled with free agents. Tennessee, SC and Florida always seem to pick off a few.

I'm telling you all now. Whoever the recruiter is in charge of the NJ area, he has to start now on HS soph Jordan Fuller. He is the brother of Devin Fuller (5-star) WR/QB who UK offered this past year. Jordan is the proverbial: bigger, stronger, faster than his older brother...UCLA sniped Devin, why can't the closest SEC school bring in the younger?

    Go CATS, go Jersey!

Did you know: 1/3 of the land mass of NJ is south of the Mason-Dixon line? Yeeee Haaaaww Snookie!

Interesting points. I hadn't really thought much about the PSU situation in relation to NJ guys. That's probably the school with the strongest pull up there, and I'd say they're going to suffer a bit from the lingering memories of Sandusky's actions.

  • Isn't Drennon from New Jersery? He apparently has just dropped UK from his list. Looks like UNC is the leader.

Doesnt look like it to me.

6/24/2012: Dajaun Drennon names Notre Dame, North Carolina, Kentucky, USC and West Virginia as his top five.

From this very site...from today...he did say he is closest to UNC coaches...

Where you see he dropped UK?

    WildcatGG24

  • Wow, my bad. I was reading that article and didn't see UK mentioned anywhere in his remarks. Kentucky is indeed mentioned. Would be a great get, that's for sure.
