Doesn't make sense to have 3/4 of the tournament as double elimination and then play the final four as single. How does the SEC explain that rationale?

Not sure on explanation but coaches approved the format. Doesn't make sense to me either. But I'm guessing with 10-team event and already lasting 6 days if you advance all the way to final it is partially to protect young arms.

Kentucky has another smoked ball knocked down and turned into a double play. Been that kind of day for Cats through 6 innings.

Also, not sure I understand this move but Kentucky putting Taylor Rogers on mound for the 7th. He was expected to be starter tomorrow if Cats won today. No idea why Henderson isn't using any of his considerable bullpen arms (Peterson, Gott, Mahar, etc.).

UK's inability to get down a SAC bunt hurts it again. Been a problem all year. Wastes a leadoff single and chance to move runner into scoring position for top of order. McCarthy flies out to end inning. Yet another scoring chance that goes up in smoke. MSU 2, UK 1; T-8th

Another tough inning for the Cats. Maile Ks for 2nd time today. Reed singles. Williams Ks for third time (all have been ugly too). Then Riddle, the only player who has hit well today, scorches a ball that is run down in RCF gap. It would have scored pinch runner Brian Adams from first with tying run.; UK trails 2-1 headed to 9th

Another leadoff hit for State in Top 9th. Another SAC bunt. 5th time State has executed that today. Cats failed to do same in 7th.

State moves runner over to 3B with 2 outs. Henderson going to Trevor Gott to try and get the 3rd out and keep deficit at 1. Huge run at 3B.

Well, Kentucky got the break it needed to have a chance against MSU closer. Throwing error by 3B puts Witt on. Can UK get SAC bunt down?

Flynn grounds out to 2B. Witt moves to 3B. Austin Cousino, the Cats spark plug all year, up with 2 outs.

That's been the story for the majority of games the last month or so.
