A lot of people have brought up the benefit of playing in domes/neutral settings for the NCAA Tournament, but has anyone thought of the benefit of playing in places as hostile as Bloomington was in terms of winning games like Vandy, Florida and Mississippi State on the road in the SEC, which ultimately allowed UK to get the No. 1 overall seed and best positioning for a national title run?

....after what happened last year? Why, because you got beat? Please do not say that it is the tired old diatribe of "our fans were abused" etc. etc. I was sitting in the 8th row on the floor and I can see all the way up into the main level, and I saw NOTHING of any UK fans being abused. Face it: that was just some people who were not even there, trying to stir up IU fans because they were so upset that UK lost.
I love how UK fans just took this story and ran with it. Kind of like "Rupp's not a racist", Emery Air Freight was a plant by a UCLA fan, Eric Bledsoe is a math genius, etc. There is no fanbase in the country capable of revising history as well as UK fans have for the past 70 years.

That's not "tired old diatribe." It's fact. It was seen and documented by multiple people I trust.
Whether you personally saw or heard it in a madhouse of, what, 17K or so people, is irrelevant. How could you possibly know what happened in every section of Assembly Hall? Right?
Whether that was enough to justify killing off a great tradition is debatable. I say it wasn't.

Were you there? I was. I saw nothing like what was supposedly documented by these "multiple people that you trust."
Face it: it was just a way for UK fans to take the sting away from losing that game. There were not even that many UK fans in the crowd in Assembly Hall.
And I could go on and on about how I was treated in Atlanta for the Sweet 16 by UK fans. I had not even gotten out of my car in front of the hotel when some hillbilly in a stained UK T shirt was walking down the sidewalk and said to the valet...."Hey, gimme the keys, I'll crash the car into a tree"...just because we had IU plates on our car. I had not even gotten out of my car yet in Atlanta and it started! There were UK fans running up and down the aisle taunting anyone wearing red who sat on the aisle in my section in the Georgia Dome. What kind of behavior do you think that is? Civilized?
Personally, I do not care about playing UK anymore, and it is by no means because of being scared of playing UK's team. It is dealing with your fans. How many times have I seen on other team's message boards both on 247 and on Rivals about how repugnant the UK fanbase acts? Why must your fanbase be so smug and arrogant and dismissive of other schools? How many times have I heard your fans refer to IU and UofL as irrelevant?
I am on the Peegs IU forum and I can't tell you how many times there have been UK fans start flame threads on there. Upon looking at UNC's, Tennessee's, Florida's, and Duke's boards, the same thing is prevalent. So if IU fans are so vile and terrible, why is it that UK fans are always on other rival's boards starting flame threads?
I am frankly tired of hearing this same diatribe about supposed bad fan treatment in Bloomington. IT DID NOT HAPPEN! Where is the video? Where are the pictures? In this era of cellphone camcorders and cameras, are you telling me that not one person got a pic or video of something happening? Wonder why that is?......
