I am not the one confused here. But thank you for playing.

    Brilliant insight you have.

Recruiting Room, hopefully this coaching hire, heck blue white game, fan day, uniforms, etc. If boosters are giving that much to basketball, maybe some of the funds from basketball should fund other programs that football funds?

They are also funding a hospital.

You mean what the SEC affiliation funds?

I hate to tell you this but when you take away the SEC check? UK Basketball and UK Football revenues are far closer than one would imagine...and that's without the benefits that UKFB has with Commonwealth Stadium. I'm not even including the ancillary stuff that UK Basketball generates (all the media deals are based around the value of UK Basketball for example)

    But thanks for playing.

The recruiting room is a joke. It's what fans latch onto because they can. I've never heard a single recruit for any school ever say, 'I went to that school because they had a nice place to eat before the game.' And if you want the truth, boosters that offered money for that reneged. That's the truth.

Uniforms? UK got new ones last season. Even went with black unis that fans clamored for. Blue/White Game? Again, not enough people care. Simple as that. Fan Day? Show up if you care. Not enough people do. The reality is there is a very diehard group of UK football fans but it's a very small group. The vast majority don't particularly care either way. If UK's good, they'll show up, tailgate, and hang out for the game. If not, they won't. That's the reality.

How many players a year does UK recruit in basketball?

SEC basketball is as laughable as Big East Football. Maybe UK should just join the big east. That seems to be your way of thinking? I am so lost here...why arent there SEC affiliation funds for UK Basketball? Ohhh.....wait....it goes back to my point...that we are not a basketball conference...but again....thanks for not even playing...but attempting to make a point with such a lack of ability.

This is hilarious. Have you been to the blue white game or fan day? There is a reason people dont care. Its ridiculous. The school DOESNT CARE. I was making examples. Recruits look at the whole package. And trust me, that coach thats recruiting against us will use everything THEY have that WE do not have up to and including a recruiting room. Why dont they spend the money they spend on madness just once for the blue white game or fan day and see how many people show up. Its not even really advertised. With the attitude you have there will never be a turnaround. This coaching hire is important because it has a chance to begin a shift in the direction of change. But there is no point to comment on this anymore with you because apprently the best we will ever hope for is Nashville on New Years Eve.

There are. It's included in the entire total but what YOU don't understand is that the big basketball money is controlled by the NCAA (or at least the tourney money) and there are more hands in that pot. The football tv revenue is controlled by the schools and conferences.

I don't know who you are but I know that I've spent years researching these things. I've broken down all the SEC AD budgets, the conference tv contracts. I know what the numbers say and you, frankly, have little clue how things work.

You don't understand anything about the issues discussed don't discuss them. The fact that you don't even understand the economics and nature of recruiting speaks volumes.

Harsh words but more true than a lot of people are willing to admit.

Because the vast majority of Kentuckiana is basketball country. I wish they would support the program like they do basketball but, they won't.

From everything I hear - and I have a friend who has been a part of the 'negotiations' (for lack of a better term) between UK and the state - the bonding is going to come through sooner rather than later. David Williams being gone is a massive help, as is fact the election year is over. Those elected aren't worried about money being put into athletics as much now that they're bid for re-election is up. Commonwealth will get upgrades. May not be $100 million but even $60 would be major progress.

That's good news... we'll take whatever we can get
