Bad football rumors

  • bottom line mcduffen rancifer the future at wlb. i think mcduffen williamson and dupree r going to be the best group of linebackers i have seen ne ways.

  • Per Kyle Tucker of the C-J and Ben Jones of the Rivals site, Tony Neely is confirming that all three (Patterson, Delic, and Henderson) are no longer with the team. Delic dismissed; Henderson and Patterson opting to leave.

Delic was a goner when he left the first time. Guys that leave school & (try to) come back rarely, rarely do much.

Exactly. For those trying to re-write history as if Delic were a nobody that noone expected to be an important contributor this season is laughable. Some of you ought to go back to the joy and happiness expressed when the rumor surfaced of him returning.

And in this very thread where someone who left the team tried to return but didnt work out, people are bringing up Tyler and Laughlin? Shaking my freaking head. Just write it down in ink, if a kid leaves the team for any extended period of time they won't be back. Doesnt matter how much they say they want to rejoin, or the coaches want them back, it just doesnt work out.

As for Henderson, well Chuck kept his promise. The beginning of August laid down the law that the kid would never play on the field for the University of Kentucky, and it has come true.

  • I know attrition hurts and some of us grow fond of these players and want to see them succeed. Sometimes though things happen and they just arent going to help us. Since CRB and Joker have come on board how many players have left UK? A bunch. How many have made a big impact where they transferred? It sucks to say, but by getting into college, most of the guys that quit have proved they can say...paper or plastic? Football isnt for everyone.

  • I'm normally an optimist because I do believe Joker has upgraded the recruiting and depth. But that's contingent upon these guys making it four years. I know there's also attrition, but it seems we're losing legitimate quality prospects that may not be in two deep rotation now, but definitely would be by next year due to attrition in the underclass, See Mikie Benton.

Not encouraged with what's going on this spring other than the defense hopefully being better and Max Smith throwing. But some of this hurts. Delic looked legit earlier and Patterson was supposedly best prospect in KY in his class.

  • Patterson's knee has never come close to being fully recovered. That has kept him well down the depth chart.

Normally I'd be upset but considering we've got a scholly crunch for next year we need to trim some of the dead weight.

I liked Tim's upside, but that was probably the worst class of football prospects for KY in the last 20 years. He would have been 6-10 (or higher) in most years.

  • and what happened with his knee I think is what was similar to the situation with Moss at QB. Only his wasn't his shoulder it was his knee. Senior year's in HS they blew the roof off the doors, but both weren't ever the same after the injury.

Ship is sinking. Prepare for the worst. I've been a season ticket holder since 1974. Thought it never would be as bad as 82. But it is about to happen.

Where are your season tickets at? If you want to sell them, keep me in mind, I need two more for this season. Thanks

  • All I ask on Patterson...He was dead on a good fit (if healthy) to play OLB/DE in Minter's system...so w/o him, who is going to back up Dupree in that spot? Are we sure Josh Forrest at his weight can give us depth at this spot?

I am just shaking my head at why we lose guys that at minimum have to give us depth at spots we for sure will need it.

From what I'm hearing he was injured and never was gonna be the player people had hoped he'd be. Trust me I loved TP from the beginning because he spurned Louisville to come to UK. I was hoping he'd make an impact but it looks as if that wasn't gonna be possible.

  • If Cobbins has grade issues, then, blame Cobbins. If Delic was kicked off for disciplinary actions, then blame Delic. If Patterson decided himself to give up football because of an injury, then blame the injury. Why is Joker being blamed for these guys? Sure, we lose depth, but, in these 3 instances, at least, it is what it is and I think Joker is doing the right things if it's costing chemistry issues or someones not doing what they need to do to get on the field...

I think I read where Paschal was getting snaps in that position.

I always thought it was strange he was playing WLB. I thought he was a DE or SLB all the way.

But I am not sure if he ever recovered from the knee which is why I was not as concern for the loss. I still think Delic is the biggest loss of the three.

Same place they've been for 38 years. You shouldn't have any problems buying season tickets this year. You can buy as many as you want.

You'd be surprised at how big Forrest is now. He's very close to what Patterson was, and he's a year behind him in the S&C program. I hear they are thrilled about his future.
