Baseball Cats in the Cape Cod League

It appears as though six Kentucky players will be on teams in the prestigious Cape Cod League this summer, at least according to team rosters. Working to confirm through UK, but league starts this week. I've linked Cape Cod League site and the players are listed below:
Trevor Gott - Orleans Firebirds
J.T. Riddle - Orleans Firebirds
Jerad Grundy - Orleans Firebirds
Corey Littrell - Harwich Mariners
A.J. Reed - Harwich Mariners
Matt Reida - Harwich Mariners
Zac Zellers - Hyannis Harbor Hawks
Walt Wijas - Hyannis Harbor Hawks

can't really blame him all that much. With the support the Marlins have put in changing their name, bringing in Ozzie and signing big names like it's going out of style, who wouldn't wanna be a part of that? Congrats to Cam

^ TKE, what are you hearing re Grundy's plans for next year (is he likely to eventually sign to play pro, or is there a solid chance he comes back for his senior season)?

The UK guys continue to show well in the Cape. Matt Reida went 4-for-5 with two triples, a home run and two RBI last night. He's hitting .393 and five of his 11 hits have been for extra bases. Trevor Gott went two more scoreless innings (now 5.0 for the summer) to get his fourth save in as many chances. Walt Wijas struck out three of the four batters he faced and hasn't given up a run yet either. Corey Littrell and Jerad Grundy both slated to pitch Sunday.

Good day yesterday for Jerad Grundy, who threw 5 innings, allowing only 1 hit, 0 runs, and striking out 4; Trevor Gott yielded first hit in the cape but still had his sixth consecutive scoreless inning.

Trevor Gott's summer in the Cape has ended early. He had some shoulder soreness last week and was examined, but everything appears fine. Still, with the long nature of Kentucky's season and then the Cape they didn't want to push it so he's headed back to Lexington.
Final Cape Stats: 7 games, 7.2 innings, 5 hits, 2 runs, 3 walks, 10 strikeouts, 4 saves
