With a COMPLETELY different cast, but I still agree. These guys suck.

  • My MY you guys crack me up. Rember the 2010 team people were saying the same things.

  • Yeah? They sucked. coffee

  • Brandon Knight, Doron Lamb and Darrius Miller are not walking through that door. No where close to 2010 team.

They had a systemic road issue. This team has a whole litany of problems.... Right here in February.

    TacosMcGee

  • That team had Brandon Knight. This team doesn't. End of story.

  • If I could upvote the title of the thread 25 times I would. We aren't very good. No big deal. A sane, rational, statement.

No they don't. They are freshmen. Way to support our team though, I know, reverse psychology ... Wiggins, Randle and Gordon probably get it am sure.

Okay, well, all freshmen who will be gone at the end of the year. It's practically february, so I'm sorry but this group is a lost cause.

Maybe it's a lack of vets, but thus group of freshmen in this class overall is not as good as those in other years from what I can tell... So next year, despite youth again, I will venture will be infinitely better than this one.

Wrong. They were a 4 seed, and were ranked all year basically lol. We are unranked all year, and will not be in the tourney. Not even close to being where that team was at this juncture. We can only have 2 more sec losses and get in, and once you account for Florida, that means we have to basically run the table. Bad comparison.

  • These players do not suck. More like they are typical freshman. We have been blessed with atypical freshmen the last three years with at least one NBA ready player when they stepped foot on campus. The closest to that this year has been Nerlens and he wasn't ready when he came to UK. Other guys haven't progressed as fast as we would like. Those should come back for a second year. Noel and Mays should be the only significant players not on the team next year. If that changes then some guys will change drastically in the next month. None of that means the players suck.

Knight's team, by January 18th, 2010, we had lost 4 games(lost to Bama on 1/18), end up losing 4 more before losing to UCONN in the final four. The 64 dollar question is can they get better overnight and improve.

  • ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Bingo! Nate hit the nail on the head. We all knew this was going to happen with a Calipari coached team eventually. The freshman just aren't panning out the way we hoped and they're all we have to rely on. It was bound to happen. Hopefully next season will be different.

I'd be less frustrated with them if they would behave like typical freshmen and become sophomores. All indications are that all of them are gone. I agree with the sentiment that these guys just play like typical freshmen.... I can go with that. But with their one and done plan, they are held to a different standard. Frankly, they don't even approach meeting it. Most of your in the know people are suggesting all of them will leave this year. Looking at their product, I find that ridiculous.

To me at least one guy looks to have checked out. I don't think he has, but I do think he doesn't understand his role. The other guy is getting better. He just had a rough night with foul trouble. Just about everyone else has been better recently, with the exception being Harrow tonight. He had a rough one but has been substantially better.

This team overall is overthinking IMO. They need to just play and let the game come to them. I'll be stunned if anybody but Noel and WCS leave early.

This team just lacks the jr sr leadership it needs to play 40 min. I said it from day one this team will loose 5 to 6 games at least.

Next yrs team will have problems also if 2 or 3 players who play big min does not return.

Freshman are just that and like last yrs team you need leadership players to glue it all together.

WCS will be back. He has no offensive game at all. He has stone hands with the ball. He does not have the D that noel has not even close. He is a project right now.

The NBA will let him pass a long way down the ladder

Per some others in the know, you should expect to lose Poythress, Noel, WCS, Goodwin, and Wiltjer. Possibly Harrow.

Wiltjer is not suddenly going to become the athlete he needs to be to boost his stock, so the mindset is he might as well get paid as a role player now. Based on what I was told, I don't expect any of them.

We also need room for two Harrison's, lee, young, Willis, Johnson, and possibly randle and wiggins. We won't get there just losing the towers. I haven't done the math admittedly because I was told there would be none here. Ha ha

    TacosMcGee

  • Pretty sure the only ones on the outside looking in would be Wiggins and Randle.

As for WCS I don't necessarily disagree, but he has tremendous potential for a player his size. The NBA has taken chances on players much more raw than him in the last decade on a consistent basis. I don't see that changing. Hell, they drafted Orton in the first round. I won't say any more unless you'd like.

What does that last sentence mean?

I think WCS is one of the more sure to be gone. To me, the only one in question is harrow.

They were ranked 14 when they lost to bama. This team can't lose 4 more imo

  • There just seems to be no TEAM with some of thsese guys. Goodwin is a prime example. When he does pass the ball on drive it usually ends up a turnover because they guy cant catch it. Probably because he shocked Goodwin passed it. For the most part these guys dont seem to get along or trust each other.

    truecatfan4life

  • I think it speaks volumes to the quality of this year's NBA draft that Noel and Mohommed are being considered for the #1 pick and that Goodwin and Poythress are still considered lottery picks. Noel and Mohommed will be NBA players someday, sure, but likely coming off the bench for someone. These other guys I don't even see sticking in the league. There's nobody in the lottery picks that I see being a star in the league. Possibly Anthony Bennet could get there, but he's short for his position and tweeners have a bad history.
