Beal of Fla...

  • Just read elsewhere that he is headed to the NBA..That leaves room for Bennett if he chooses that route..okay people, how about this....get Bennett,Oriaki and Jefferson and Lamb stays and I think we are set...be headed toward #9..

oh and by the way,the following year we get Parker,Julius Randle and the Harrison twins..The 2013 class is loaded...

  • Lamb won't stay, but if he would consider staying for all four years he would be a Kentucky legend. He's a dead eye shot and a lock down defender. Too bad we won't get to see it any more.banghead

  • call me dumb, weird, or whatever you want, but i could actually see him coming back

  • Did Beal do the thing where he can come back if he withdraws in time? Sure can't see him going very high.

  • Beal is a top 10 pick at worst. And many have him top 5. Some as high as #2. Are you sure you're not mistaking him for someone else?

Are you drunk, Jeff? LOL. The withdrawl deadline has passed and Beal is projected as a top 5 pick.

Yeah, I'm not sure why you would think that. He's top 5 in nearly every mock draft and depending on now workouts and the combine go I don't believe its out of the question that he slides above MKG. Not likely but possible.

    I thought he'd be around 10-15. No idea they're saying Top 5.

Jeff you know why. You, me, and everyone else knows its not about what you can do or how well you can play, its about what you COULD do and how well you COULD play. Beal has nice size and a solid jumper.

    Most mock drafts have
    1.) AD
    2.) Drummond
    3.) MKG
    4.) Robinson
    5.) Beal
    6.) Sullinger
    7.) Barnes
    8.) Henson
    9.) Perry Jones
    10.) Zeller
    11.) TJ
    28-21 - Teague
32-36- Miller and Lamb, both going to Cleveland.

But I saw some generic mock which I cant remember which one. It wasn't one of the 3 main sites, had...

    1.) AD
    2.) Drummond
    3.) Beal
    4.) Robinson
    5.) Sullinger
    6.) MKG
    12.) TJ
    18.) Teague
    32.) Miller
    34.) Lamb

  • I like Beal. Just didn't fathom he'd be Top 5. Agree that his shooting skills (with his size) will give him a decent shot in the NBA.

What I mean is he "officially in" or "in" like UK's guys?

He is officially in. Chad ford has him described as "Ray Allen meets Eric Gordon." I think it is more just Eric Gordon, 34% from 3 and 77% from the line is no Ray Allen, not close.

  • Remember, its his future po po not his skills as of right now. PG and SG are on the soft side this yr.

The 24/7 people need to ban you from projecting the NBA draft, Jeff. LOL. Just messin with ya.

  • Sorry but I do not see how MKG can be a top 10 player. Just saying, for a 6'6 or 6'7 player with a horrid jump shot that seems high to me. Love his motor and his speed but, there are a ton of NBA players like that. You just don't find a jump shot, it either comes or not. I would not take hime in the top 5 in my draft. Just saying.

    dvillepro1

  • I don't think there are many players like MKG in the NBA.

He's got a truly unique combination of athleticism and desire.

He's also an above average passer and he has a great bball IQ.

Plus he was statistically the best transition finisher in college basketball in the last several years.

He's also the consumate team player and a terrific locker room guy.

There just aren't many people in the world with that combination of winning attributes. Not in highschool, not in college, not in the NBA not in the world.

Special, special player and we were fortunate that he spent his one college season in Lexington.

    montana81

  • He MKG played one yr in Coll and you know he is a locker room guru.
There are a ton of players in the NBA that have his motor.
If you cannot shoot you will not last long in the NBA at his 6'6 or 6'7 size.

You say this anytime the guys name is mentioned. Yet still he's being projected as a top 5 pick. Some even believe he's a lock at #2. A guy on another site with ties to NBA scouts made that statement. So what exactly is not getting through here.

  • I disagree that a ton of players in the NBA have his motor. Maybe a handful. Heck the only guy weve seen in college with his motor in the last decade was Psycho T.

And we don't know he's a great locker room guy from his one year in college alone. It comes from everyone that's coached him and played with him during his entire highschool and AAU career along with his one year in college.

Lebron and Wade didn't have very good jumpers going into the draft either.

And he's better than Wade was at the same age.

Uhhhhh wait a minute. I love me some MKG I really really do but in no way is he better than Wade at this point. No.

If, and I know its only an if, Lamb would stay, could he be the first player since the ucla days to have a chance at 4 final fours?
