I have heard from people close to several large donors to the football program that is almost a done deal with the new head coach. I don't want to reveal info, but I will say one thing, his name rhymes with Smutch Clones......... That's all, I've already said too muchpray

Hearing the same..reported 2.5per..5 yrs..but this is under the table talk..one thing going for him..coaches named Butch almost always tough..and winners...lol

  • Large donors to the football program? LOL... Ask brooks about the "large" donors who promised the recruiting room and then when he called to collect they backed out...

NOBODY, including the donors has a CLUE where the hiring process is.

I suspect we may start to see some movement this week as we are one week away from the end of the season.

However, we won't hear butch jones, if it is jones, for two weeks IMO. He still has two games left.

  • I would like to see Bob Stoops as our coach...Lots of class, great coach and hopefully he is ready to take on a challenge like this...lol...Would be the guy that would put fannies in the seats and a huge interest back in the program..

I personally prefer us to go out and get Nick Saban. He's the better hire. After all we can get anyone we want as long as we throw enough money around...biggrin

  • You all can be cynical or sarcastic or whatever but there have been some reports of Stoops and Okla maybe not being on the same page anymore and maybe he needs a change of scenery..Would he want a challenget like this at this stage in his career? Only he could answer that and that is why Mitch should call...

You are correct hop, in that they are going to get started this week. But we won't hear anything about it from the University. We most likely won't hear from the University until a coach is named. I think the only way we would hear anything beforehand is if the BOT does not approve whoever is chosen as replacement. Then something could leak out that way if certain members are extremely unhappy with the decision.

The coaches themselves will have leaks starting this week because contact will be made and perhaps serious conversations could occur. People in their families and inner-circles will start to chatter a bit. You definetly won't hear anything from the university. Mitch has the place on lock-down. Kudos to him for that. Coaches respect that.

  • Jones was my number 2 behind Petrino. Not anymore. He loses to teams he shouldn't like Toledo and Syracuse. Also does anyone think that Jones would put butts back in the seats? No! If you don't think this ways into the equation then you're fooling yourself. Jones is nothing more than a smokescreen in my opinion.

Wow... Do you realize how hard it is to win at Cincy?

Charlie strong lost on the road to the cuse when they had EVERYTHING to play for. Does that make him a bad coach?

Did you just find out that they lost those games? PS: Toledo is pretty damn good this year. Yeah they've lost two in a row but they darn near beat Arizona earlier this year and their losses are all by a td or less

  • W/ the new round of conference shuffling taking place & the BE getting marginalized to the point of no return...We are likely to see several BE coaches try to jump ship... That has to be seen as a positive for UK, if it's targeting Jones.

(But not so much if your a Card fan!!! Who actually thinks the ACC will/should pick them over UConn...LOL!!)

There playing in the Big EAST. Cincy played Syracuse at home not on the road. Bad comparison. UC has a hell of a lot more talent than Syracuse or Toledo and still loss much like UK and WKU. Sorry but facts are facts.

Teams lose games they aren't supposed to sometimes. Bama lost to aTm. UofL lost to Syracuse. Oregon lost to stanford. That's why you look at the overall record instead of one or two games. Winning 9 or 10 games at Cincy is REALLY hard to do. That's the fact.

OH give it a rest? Losing to Toledo is OK? Please! Cincy job isn't as hard as UL, Syracuse or anyone else in the Big EAST except for USF. That's a lie! No fact there at all! Cincy and OHIO are very fertile grounds to recruit. You're credibility with these kind of post is headed south quickly! That's a fact!

haha. I guess that's why about every expert in college football talks about how awful Cincy's facilities are and how tough it is to win there.

At least i've got some credibility to lose. You? No credibility to start.

I never said it was "ok" to lose. I'm simply saying that looking at one or two games is beyond stupid. Coming from you, I'm not surprised.

UofL throws massive amounts of $$ in their football program. Syracuse is the FLAGSHIP university of our country's third most populous state and has a pretty strong tradition.

Do us all a favor and just shutup about stuff you don't know anything about.

PS: Bryan Kelly got blown out by FBS newcomer in 2008 by 24 points. I guess he sucks too.

    Seriously, you have no clue.

Are you kidding? LOL! Every expert please? Name one? Syracuse in a football hot bed? Do you know how stupid this is? No there not! Try Ohio, Penn, Georgia, Texas, Forida. California, etc.....You don't have a clue about football do you? I honestly feel sorry for someone like you. I'm being sincere here.
