Bozich going after Barnhart...

  • What many have been saying.

BOZICH: Who Thinks Mitch Barnhart Can Fix UK Football? - WDRB 41 Louisville - News, Weather, Sports Community

Kentucky has lost to Vanderbilt by a combined 70 points the last two seasons, but Joker Phillips isn't the only thing ailing Wildcat football.

  • Lachlan McClain stated that the on-field performances won't be the biggest embarrassment for UK fans, it will be watching Mitch lead the football coaching search.

  • That article is spot on. Schnellenberger's quote is great too. Truth hurts.

  • Great article... full of truths.

Here's the quote that really jumped out at me: "Lost Guy Morriss to Baylor after a surprising 7-5 season"... because that was my first "WTF" moment with Mitch.

Speaking of Guy Morriss... I wonder if... nahhh, forget it. There's no amount of money that would lure him back to Kentucky (not while Mitch is still around).

There was a time we'd hear his name as possible HC candidate whenever a job was opening up. What happened... no one ever mentions his name anymore. He had great success turning Baylor's football program around. However, even though his current record as HC of Texas A&M-Commerce is nothing to brag about...he would still be a great improvement to our HC position.

  • I was ok with guy morris leaving he was fired by baylor by the way. Imo mitch missed the boat agreeing to hciw the program was on the cusp we coulda got a big time coach to help take that next step. But a big time coach is not going to put up with the lack of commitment to football that has grown pathetic

    quagmire

  • Guy Morriss had a two record here of 9-14, 4-12 conference record. At baylor his combined record was 18-40 wuth a 7-33 in conference record.his record at texas a&m commerance is 9-22 thru last year, going 1-9 last year. I had no problem not giving him a raise until another winning year and letting him bolt for baylor

  • Excellent article and couldnt have stated the truth more accurately about what is ultimately the real problem with the football program and that is Mitch. I said something negative about ole Mitch a couple of weeks ago and was attacked by someone I take was a big fan of his at the time I wonder if that person is still a fan? This person that attacked me brought up the fact that ole Mitch hired Calipari but as I heard tonight he wasnt that into Cal after all and he did hire BCG and Joker and some other things that in totallity would make him a sub par AD. Does anyone truly trust ole Mitch to hire the new football coach next year or maybe just maybe he will surprise everyone by giving Joker 1 more chance?(I really dont think that will happen).chairshot

  • Mitch is great at the hires that have no real pressure associated. But with the 2 high profile money programs he has used a ham fisted approach. He screwed up basketball until he was told to hire Calipari. And I don't know if he can ever figure football out on his own.

Whoever (Matt jones) has perpetuated the FALSE rumor that Barnhart was "told" to hire cal is wrong. I've talked to Pratt about this.

  • Well, I would advise being wary of one whose (if you've bothered to have read him over the years) knowledge of sports is fairly superficial and is an unabashed UL shill to boot-beware the stealth agenda-

You do know he's an IU Alum and fan right? He may write slanted for UL, but his loyalties actually lie in Bloomington.
