i like them all except the 8-9 matchup...i dont wanna play either of those team in round 2...kansas st and memphis r both teams that we can beat by 30 or they can beats us....both have alot of talent and decent coaching

We would smash them both. Memphis has the talent but no discipline. K St has the opposite.

  • That bracket is the most favorable thus far; I dont think the NCAA will give UK that exact bracket but I would like to see it. We out match everyone in that region including Mizzou

    BigBlueMook

  • Because the 1-4 seeds in each region are given geographic priority it's almost a given that we will get either UNC or Duke as our 2 seed. ALTHOUGH, they may try to seperate KU and Mizzou. But in reality, they likely send mizzou out west as the two since there is NObody outwest deserving of the 2 seed.

Remember, on selection sunday DO not freak out when UNC is our two seed. The committee is on record as saying that the 1-4 seeds in each region are placed geographically. in reality, there is no true "overall" number 1. Or overall best #4 seed. That isn't how it works. One can argue if that's fair but it's how they do it.

  • How is Loserville still a 5 seed. They will not be seeded that high in the Big East.

More regions than the BE tourney, but I know what you mean, they are more like an 8.

  • I love the way this whole bracket shakes out...

Of UNC, Cuse, and Kansas we could only play one of them in the title game. We could play Duke or OSU in the final four...either would be fun. This is the best bracket I have seen for hanging #8.

BTW, on UNC....they are going to beat Duke on Saturday and then win the ACC tourney and get a #1 seed. I don't see them as our #2.

Completely agree about UNC and Duke. I bet money they end up our 2 seed after losing to UNC and watching their Rivals win the ACC tourney.

I'd take all those matchups in a heart beat. We're either bigger or more athletic than all those teams.

I have no idea they haven't beaten anybody.

  • I really think the only team on that list that could give us any real trouble is Missouri. They are a very solid team. They play relentless D and shoot a lot of 3's. However, in the end I think they lack enough quality scorers to overcome our own tenacious D.

I agree that this is mos def the most favorable bracket we been given yet, but I also agree that it would never happen.

They're a better version of Florida. They're so thin in the middle we'd give them absolute fits. Plus with Davis in the game it allows us to body up all their perimeter scorers and force them to drive rather than go catch and shoot.

I think it will be the second best team from the Big 12. Mizz because of them going to the SEC. and also because they KS and Mizz are both very good and could be a #1 seed.

You can think Joe Lunardi for that. These is on one in basketball with a greater Big East bias. The Big East is down this year and they get 10 teams in the tournament? It's a joke that keeps happening year after year.

When you have all these mediocre Big East teams make up one-third of the at-large teams selected, it waters down the strength of the tournament.

  • Looking at the brackets, when was the last time Duke went out west/didn't get put in the east?

  • That bracket would be a gift. Although, to be honest it really doesn't matter. We would roll dUKe if they were our #2 seed. And we already beat carolina, with strickland, back in December before the team gelled and when unc hit eleven 3's.

I think Missouri's problem playing UK will be their matchups on the defensive side of the ball. As another poster said, they are waffer thin on the inside. Of MKG, Davis and Jones...they only have the personal to guard ONE of those three players. The other two would have decided mis-matches on both O and D. I just think UK would exploit that too much for Mizzou to beat us.

As Barkley always says it's a game of matchups and I think we are a horrible matchup at multiple positions for them on O and our length on D would be something they have never seen. They'd have to shoot over our trees from deep and would be driving into Spiderman. They could beat us, but I like our chances in this game.
