I guess I'm the contrarian, but I see no need to have it or any other such trophy for such a game and I certainly don't think the UK-UT series is any less 'special' because of a lack of a barrel or some other trinket to present at the end of the game when the crowd is exiting the stadium. I guess it would give the media another photo opportunity, but I don't see what purpose it serves.
Even in a legit 'rivarly' like OSU-Michigan, or Bama-Auburn, who cares about any trophy? It's the scoreboard that produces the bragging rights, and all that really matters for the next year.
Maybe it's just me though - having never seen UK hold that silly barrel perhaps makes it less important to me.

As some of you may have heard, the website http://www.battleforthebeerbarrel.com/ is petitioning a return of the Beer Barrel to the Kentucky–Tennessee rivalry.
The Beer Barrel tradition was discontinued in 1998 after the drunk-driving deaths of UK football player Artie Steinmetz and passenger Scott Brock.
What do you guys think? Si or no?
