  • Sorry all you "uk fans" on here who thought you met your agenda lol, but I got direct confirmation from the source of sources, Joker gets 1 more year!!! Ha!!! Expect Mitch to back the coach publicly in 3 weeks(approx), he has decided to back Phillips!! I think it's great, and it worked with brooks, so I can't blame him. Go cats, beat gators.

    I doubt Mitch has made any decision after 3 weeks. The situation could get worse. It could get better. My point is, we just don't know.

    I can't wait for this whole schizm between Joker supporters and Joker opponents to be gone. I'm a UK fan. Whichever side that makes me, that's where I am.

    Man I'm with you. I've reached the point that I want Joker to be fired if it means UK fans can unite and get behind a coach and put our butts in the seats again. I just want commonwealth to be rocking every week regardless of who the coach is.

    I hope Barnhart keeps him another year because then it will be a total embarrassment when they play another SEC team and the stands have 30,000 instead of the normal 60,000 in the seats.

    Money and lack of it will be the driving force. Follow the money and disregard these kind of foolish posts. The more season ticket holders fold the better.

  • No chance you heard this, If UK finishes the season the rest of the way most people expect it to Mitch's hand will be forced.

    It is more than likely that UK enters it's final two home games against Vanderbilt and Samford with no more than two wins, if that is the case I see no more than 30,000 people for either of those games. The financial setback would be disastrous and would only get worse heading into the 2013 season.

  • I actually agree with the OP. I think Mitch looks at the situation with Brooks when everyone was calling for his head and he got it turned around. Losing to Florida, SCarolina, Ga, Ark and Tenn have been pretty much expected anyway. Anyone who says different is lying. I do think UK will need to win at least 2 of the 3 home games with Sanford, Miss St and Vandy and at least play competitive with Mizzou and Tenn. A 3-9 record is highly likely, but, there were alot of folks calling for that anyway. At best, 5-7.

  • The situations Brooks and Phillips walked into couldn't have been more different. The trajectory of the program after they were here 3 years is different. Brooks had been a COY, a successful HC at a BCS school for years and a HC in the NFL. Phillips has never been a coordinator at any school but UK. Brooks knew how to organize a staff and deal with the media and fans. Phillips has shown none of those abilities. This is not the same situation despite the fact that some people want to portray it as such. If things don't change dramatically I see no way Barnhart can keep him another year. Financial reality and the embarrassment of the BOT will eventually rear their heads and force the issue even if Barnhart doesn't see a problem.
