I'm hearing the exact opposite obviously, but sources can vary I guess... I guess you're kidding, but I'm not lol. This is rock solid info per Jake Trenton, so you can draw your own conclusions!

Jake Trenton is a lizard-person, FYI.

  • That may be true. I'm just glad I can finally put all this behind me and enjoy rooting for the cats!!!

I actually agree with the OP. I think Mitch looks at the situation with Brooks when everyone was calling for his head and he got it turned around. Losing to Florida, SCarolina, Ga, Ark and Tenn have been pretty much expected anyway. Anyone who says different is lying. I do think UK will need to win at least 2 of the 3 home games with Sanford, Miss St and Vandy and at least play competitive with Mizzou and Tenn. A 3-9 record is highly likely, but, there were alot of folks calling for that anyway. At best, 5-7.

Sorry - Brooks > CJP, so it's not the same. And that's no disrespect to CJP as a person. He just isn't a very good head coach imo.

Plus, Brooks inherited a completely different UK team (loss of schollies, on probation, etc) than CJP did...and instead of getting better each year, our football teams under CJP seem to be taking a step backward each season he's been a head coach.

It doesn't get much worse than losing to Western.

    Stay tuned for Samford.

  • I guarantee Mitch hasn't told anyone his decision yet. So nobody knows for sure. That said 2-10 and he's fired.

  • I have been a Kentucky football fan for 32 years, but if Joker is back next year I will be through. I have felt our team's play has been trending down since the middle of his first season. But I have liked him as a person and hoped he could some way turn it around. After today I can't see how a man of the charactor I thought Joker possessed can quit on the kids he brought in to play.

  • Can't say I disagree with any of this honestly. Just another head scratcher today, no good takeaways from this game

There's one good takeaway. One game closer to the end of the Joker era.

  • Idk, you might be right. It's just tuff to say, but if he gets another shot, he has to start earning it quick. He needs to play like a guy low on chips, dangerous and aggressive!!! Nothing to lose

Sorry but but Joker has been fired already.

  • First things first. The money is going to be the driving force. After South Carolina beats us like 42-7 next week, I can only imagine that the only people going to the game will be going will be the ones not at Keeneland. You cannot have another year like this. The athletic department counts on those funds.

When that money isn't there, Mitch will have to do something to incite ticket sales. Just that simple.

This guy knows nothing. He may have heard something. If so, his source knows nothing. If this season continues in the direction it's going, Mitch's job could be (should already be IMO) on the line. No way Mitch has made up his mind to retain Joker with the $$$ the football program is losing because of this debacle. Very hard decisions are going to have to be made at the end of the season, and I don't just mean about Joker.

    A_Cat

  • I also think Joker gets one more season. Here's why. Current redshirts and incoming commitments (most of whom have great potential) will be loyal to him and it will give the legislature a chance next year to make good on David Williams' verbal financial commitment to upgrading the football facilities significantly (making it easier to get an experienced "name" coach instead of taking a risk on an "up and comer"). With the cast of players he will have there will be no excuses for less than 8 wins and a decent bowl (Gator?). Even if Joker achieves those goals it will be likely that Mitch pulls the trigger on a new coach because of lost revenue from spotty game attendance and lowering season ticket sales (since the fans will not tolerate Joker now even if he produces a winner. Joker may even take a job elsewhere FIRST to keep his friend Mitch from having to fire him. None of us "hates" Joker...he's the ultimate "nice guy" and an alum. We just have no confidence he is (or will EVER be) good enough to be our head coach. Leaving the program better than when he took it over will be the best "legacy" he can hope for. That works for me!

  • To the op,Joker is done,cooked....Wait until next week when there is about 35000 at CWS...South Carolina will beat us like a rented mule..Are you just trying to stir
    something up ?

  • Stir up the 50 people on this board lol?good night old man... See u on Saturday if u make it, or Pay for it, or just wanna complain... But, yes, you are stuck w him one more year, sorry .... Trenton already said so!!!!!!!!

I hate to burst your bubble, but this guys info means jack when money quits coming in. I believe Mitch wants to keep his job. That means he will fire Joker or be run out of town with him. Honestly, I'd welcome that last part, but I'm afraid he's not that stupid.

Anyway, any source's info doesn't mean a whole lot after the 4th game and two home games. Just wait to hear what that guy says when the home games aren't filling half the stadium. Joker's seat isn't hot, it's cooked.
