Butch Jones can flat out coach. Just beat Virginia Tech.

How much does he make a yr and how much would it be to by out his contract? I'd love him to move an hour south.

Not denying the fact that Jones can coach a little bit but VT is overrated every, single year. Almost as badly as Notre Dame.

Hey, hey, now......nobody is more overrated than Notre Dame is recently. Still excelling in the MAC, winning 10 wins in his 2nd yr in the BigEast, and starting out 3-0 this yr while beating Pitt and VaTech is nothing to overlook.

Does he really have a good team this year and can he recruit the south. In other words does he have connections to assemble a staff that can recruit the south. Any solid names he might bring with him.

I don't know how well he can recruit, but yes, he does have a good team this year. I've watched them twice, and was very surprised, as I was not expecting much from them. Personally, I think they beat UL and quite possibly take the Big East title this year. Their QB is deceptively good, and will develop into an all american.

He should roll into Louisville 6-0. UL struggled with a pretty bad USM team this past week. UC may go in there and get the win.

This. Not saying Butch is a bad coach, but if beating Virginia Tech is the way to get an SEC coaching job, then we should have hired Mickey Matthews from James Madison a few years ago.

I don't know any real specifics, but if you look at who Cincy has recruited the last few yrs that he has been coach. A few 4*s, a TON of 3*s, and few 2*s. Similar I suppose in appearance to what Strong at UL has brought in. The vast majority of his players come from Ohio (including a lot from Cincy), Georgia, and Florida. Some from Indiana and Ky too.

I like Jones. I think he'll get a call and interview if he wants. JMO.
