The "normal attrition" the last 2 years seems to have bit us in the arse.

Normal students flunk out of school as well. I have doubts on Joker too, but damn dude, there are some good things happening with recruiting and I like some of the young kids playing this year.

I think Eric Dixon has a chance to fill in for Caffey nicely, he showed some good things last year as a true frosh.
Tiller, Reed, and Quinn better not be hoping to redshirt. We need all three for depth now.

Is it just me or are people making this a bigger deal than it really is? Sure losing Caffey hurts, but he had never taken a snap as CB before. I'd rather he be ineligible than someone like Donte Rumph or Bud Dupree.

Definitely a big loss. This kid has real potential and had won the job without ever taking a live snap at this position. That says enough about our lack of depth to scare me. Hopefully someone will step up and do the job, but it probably will make it even more important that we find a way to get pressure on the QB.

If grades were an issue, I wonder why he participated in spring practice? Joker and staff have been pretty consistent about holding those in question out of spring ball. Does the fact that he participated suggest he ran aground during summer session?

Definite blow, regardless. I like Neloms at corner better against the Cards, anyway, but we'll need Simmons, Dixon, Tiller, Reed, or a player to be named later to step it up by the time SEC play rolls around.

McDuffen and Rancifer are key at LB. Can one of them seperate and start a great career this year. Other than that I love Dupree, Williamson, and Simpson/Forrest. Even like Brause. Wonder if K Henderson or K Thomas can step up and get some time somewhere. At safety Faulkner, Lowery, Benton, and hopefully Dakotah Tyler will all be damn good. I'm with you love our LB's and safeties. Need a young player to emerge at Corner. Neloms is a damn good cover guy and he's great against the run at corner. Maybe better than any corner I can remember us having against the run. Paul Warford was pretty damn good against the run but his career got cut short.

The staff must not be too worried about corner as they had Dixon playing safety all day Saturday.

No SEC teams have balance. For the most part every team can beat you either way. Lets hope we get to see our Corners tested because otherwise the team has ran all over us.
