Calipari responds to Stallings

Oh I agree with what your saying. I'm just saying that IMO Vandy is not nearly the defensive team KY is. I also think Bama is better defensively and maybe even Miss St.

A 5 game stretch doesn't prove anything to me. Again, jmho but Vandy doesn't stand up with your numbers or the simple eye test.

Tommy, for the entire season, Vandy's defensive efficiency is 6th best in the 12 team SEC. UK's is best. Others, as your eye test has confirmed, are

    2. Alabama, 3. LSU, 4. MIssissippi, 5. Arkansas, 6. Vandy, 7. Miss State, 8. Florida, 9. Auburn, 10. Georgia, 11. Tennessee, 12 South Carolina

However, my eye also tells me that Vanderbilt is playing significantly better over the last few games than they had played over the rest of this season. For that reason, I am sympathetic to the view that this race has been boiled down to Vandy and Kentucky, with Florida flirting with both around the edges.

I absolutely agree with you. Vandy was not at 100% coming into the season and is without question playing much better. However, UK is one of (if not the) best defensive teams nationally not just in conference so for anyone to say that Vandy is "by far" better defensively just seemed a bit crazy.

There is deep dislike on Stallings' part in regard to Calipari. It really hasn't turned into a story like the Pitino/Cal thing, but it's probably even more deep-seeded. Cal and Stallings are different type of people. The thing with Pitino and Cal is they're too alike. cool

Both talkative. Both Italian. Thats' all I see similar. Unless you know something on Cal that no one else knows, Pitino's private slime episodes make the two non comparable.
