    Brandon Knight (Freshmen)
    DeAndre Liggin (Junior)
    Darius Miller (Junior)
    Terrence Jones (Freshmen)
    Josh Harrellson (Senior)
    B: Doron Lamb

    is better than

    Ryan Harrow (Junior)
    Archie Goodwin (Freshmen)
    Alex Poythress (Freshmen)
    Kyle Wiltjer (Sophomore)
    Willie Cauley (Freshmen)

Hardly, and 2012-2013 is far more talented than 2010-2011 team. Wiltjer is already amazing offensive player, if he learned little bit more on defense he becomes deadly.

and like i said in previous post. I don't expect ALL the players to declare. I expect 1 or 2 to stay. That's enough to move 2012-2013 team over 2010-2011 team. Also, keep in mind that 2012-2013 could recruit more players. Maybe not Bennet, Noels, or Shabazz.

Where did you get Cauley is a 3 year player? He came here wanted to become NBA. I say he is a 2 year player. He is a extremely long player that played wide receiver...He isn't slow and can move. I expect him to be solid player.

I would take harrellson as over Cauley as a freshman...jones over wiltjer...miller as a junior is probably a wash with poythress as a freshman...liggins as a junior and Goodwin as a freshman r a wash...and harrow as junior has a slight edge over knight...we didn't expect Bledsoe and Orton to leave either and look what happened u just never kno till they declare or not...and this team mite have a great season I'm just sayin what we did last year isn't what normally happens we had a special run I'm not sayin this team can't do it but witout more help its not probable

How exactly do we know this???? We haven't seen any of the second five in a UK uniform outside of Kyle.

I would take the first five if given a choice, but it isn't exactly fair or enlightened to compare them at this point.

    my point is...

it's not that different from the 2010-2011, as we are NOW. We can potentially get 2-3 more recruits or transfer.

Why would we worry? I guess, my point is that we will still be legit even if we don't get the top 3 recruits that's left.

1 recruit would put us over 2011. 1 returning would put us over 2011.

    um...

    i said "hardly" afterwards.

It's a forum, and I am going to compare and say that Cal's recruit will live up to the hype, considering we haven't really had a busted situation so far.

  • Poythress, Harrow and Goodwin are players that will immediately make an impact. All 3 are high 5 star Micky D All American recruits.. 95% of college teams would be absolutely ecstatic to have those 3 guys, along with Cauley, coming in and would likely call it a day and it be there best class ever. .Willie is a bit more of a project, but, even so, I could see him having a very important role on the team. defensive stopper, getting alot of boards, blocking shots, putbacks, setting picks, etc.. add in Wiltjer and you've got enough guys that can score the ball, i also expect Hood to play a bigger role next year. He gives you some upperclass leadership and may fill that sharp shooter role, similar to what Cameron Mills played with the Cats on the 98 team. I see UK adding at least 1 more, probably 2, even if it's not the 3 everyone is clamoring for, possibly a strong JUCO type guy or a Top 50-100 type kid that'll be there 3 or 4 years that may not be a lottery pick, but, still a very good college player, like a Miller or Liggins. This would still be a very formidable roster that would be a tough out come March and this is a worst case scenario, meaning we don't land any of our primary targets and none of the core 6 guys return.

  • I can't believe that people really think we're going to miss out on both Noel and Shabazz. Thats just absolutely hilarious given what Cal has done since he's been here. Not to mention we could possibly get Teague and Gilly back. One again Cal will field a contender. 4/4 for Cal. He batting a thousand.

  • JONES WILL BE BACK FROM WHAT I AM TOLD ALONG WITH TEAGUE WHO HAS MONEY FROM HIS BROTHER. MKG WILL BE BACK BECAUSE HE LOVES SCHOOL, HIS FAMILY HAS SIAD HE IS NOT READY FROM A HEAD STAND POINT FOR THE NBA AND HE WANTS TO GET BETTER ( NO JUMP SHOT ) LAMB COULD STAY TO GET ALOT BETTER AND SHOW HE IS BETTER ON D AND CAN SHOOT A LITTLE BETTER. LAMB FADES AT TIMES.

I think allowing in home visits at this stage of the season is ridiculous. You can't blame Cal or any coach for this. They have to do it to get the players they want and need. But these teams in the sweet 16 should be able to concentrate fully on the upcoming games instead of having to juggle in home visits and recruiting right in the middle of the preparation. The NCAA needs to do something about this. It's crazy.

I agree, It's like if you are a top team and advance far in the NCAA you are being penalized by either having to limit your game prep or your recruiting... The NCAAT time period should be a dead period or limited to phone calls only.

We would like to have either

    1. Teague / Lamb 2. Gilchrist 3. Wiltjer

These are the 3 guys we need to return to have a legit chance of NT.

We know Wiltjer is staying. I think Gilchrist's chance of staying is decently high. I think, between Teague / Lamb, chances of one staying is very high. I prefer Lamb.

ROFL. Am I the only one that had to do a quick double take on this post? I first thought it said a legit chance of NIT... I was like, Wooh, Say what? NT = National title > NIT.bashful

  • Chad Ford's recent insider column said that Anthony Davis and Terrence Jones had "one foot in the door" and that Lamb was 50/50. He didn't have MKG or Teague on the list.

Scratch that. Teague also on the list as 50/50.

My gut feeling is that all four of those guys leave, although I can't imagine Lamb being a high pick. If we win the title, I think everyone leaves, possibly even Calipari.

I don't understand the logic of if you win championship then Calipari will leave.

    Why?

If he wins, his pressure goes from insane to....close to nothing. Calipari can do no wrong, once he wins a national title.

Media can't say anything once he wins. With reduced pressure, it would literally become the Dream Job. You have everything you need, have everything, and be the most exciting place.

If i was Cal, i would try to win 2-3 more and stay 6-8 more years.
