UK received what could be the first of a flurry of commitments this week when Atlanta wide receiver Deangelo Yancey made it official, committing to the Cats Tuesday morning.

UK's class moves from No. 58 to 53 in the team recruiting rankings.

If, no when, we get Fant and Dowdell it will drop even more. Then, there is still an outside chance of getting the Alexander twins. Just from judging the impact Yancy had on our class ranking, its not unrealistic that we could end up in the low 30's by the end. When you factor things in like the fact that Hyde is projected as a damn OL by 247 (which SHOULD change), and Thomas is likely to get a bump in ranking by 247 at some point (just MO) there is no reason to think that we don't end up in much better position than we are now.
Chris, do the rankings factor in quantity of commits as well? If so, that could end up hurting us because we won't sign a full class this year.

I see Uk winding up anywhere from , say 28th to 40th in class rankings..something I keep up with yet means not a darned thing. Look at Wesley Woodyards class..what 48th? That team beat LSU..whacked Clemson, Fla St. whos class rankings I cant remember but were what..2, 3 , 10? LSU had a couple #1 classes..so did Fla ST..Clemson always gets good talent.
Anyway..Love Yancey!!! Big, nice looking WR that has the talent to play SEC football immeadiately...and will wind up 6'3 220 before its all over. I think Yancey gives us a go-to type weapon...JMO!!

Interesting. I'm sure it is due to him wanting to slow it down rather than the staff holding him up. Obviously has solid offers so wonder what has changed in the last day or two.

Sources say that it was down to Kentucky and Ole Miss... After getting a couple of commitments for wr Ole Miss dropped interest in Yancey and it was pretty obvious that he was going to Kentucky. Good Pickup

Yancey when I asked him other schools he was considering:
"Ole Miss but as you know they have like 6 wide receiver commits."

Fant tweeted something to the effect of three coaches on a staff telling him he was too small, couldn't play in the SEC and we want you and said he was confused by that. I think he has since deleted that comment.

He doesnt have an Ohio State offer. Someone asked him on twitter if he had gotten that offer yet and he replied no.
