Creedmoor (N.C.) Christian Faith 4-star shooting guard Torian Graham, who has twice committed to and decommitted from N.C. State, says he's still hearing a lot from Kentucky.

  • Here's some highlights from Graham's recent return to his former school, Word of God in Raleigh.

Think he's still having some problems with his knee. Still explosive but not what he was before the knee problems just yet. Could be another concern for the UK staff.

After recently transferring to Christian Faith Center Academy, senior Torian Graham came "home" to Word of God last night to play his former-team. Graham finished the game with 21 pts.

  • I agree I think Cal has this one as a just in case, or as just another athletic body in case everyone goes pro. I still think were going to have at least one or two come back and surprise everyone. They all want to be first round obviously other than Miller who will be second round. If there not going at that spot and they know it a few will come back. Then we wont need people like Graham. If they all go offer him and hopefully he gets academic straight and can play in 2013.

  • If we were to take mximum hit (6 or 7 guys leaving) AND we don't land Bazz, I could see Cal going after Pollard and Graham if he were to qualify (but I don't think there's much chance he qualifies)

I tend to agree. Always good to keep in touch with some of these guys just in case the magic runs out on the unbelievable run of good recruiting luck.

  • I actually have huge hopes for Pollard. I'm starting to think that backing off Shabazz is a good idea. Even if he is eligible there is still going to be a cloud and well we know the ncaa and Kentucky... Ok so everyone thnks im nuts, well we have Harrow, Goodwin, and Wiltjer for sure. Cauley is more of a two or three year player. We do also have Polson who in a spot will be an experienced back up pg which we haven't had in a few years. Put Goodwin at the 2. Poythress can play the 3 (preferably) and possibly the 4. Wiltjer needs to be a four not quick enough for 3 not big enough for 5. In a pinch though Cal will probably turn him into a 5. Remember we do still have Jon Hood around, who I expect to be much better than what people are thinking. We also have Twanny Beckham sitting around with mad experience. So lets get Pollard, Bennett(i think he's uk bound) and Noel. That gives us 6 recruits, all athletic and all 6-8 or taller besides Goodwin. Ive actually read multiple places and will look for the link that doctors think Goodwin could still grow 3 more inches. He still has room on growth plates when the x ray his wrist last summer. I just dont see the need for anyone who has any clout over them. Let him and Tony Parker go to UCLA. They need some good players. As a basketball traditionalist I want to see all blue bloods doing well all the time. Just as long as its not Duke/Puke. I would rather see him be declared ineligible and go to Europe just like that dude that plays for the Bucks now.....his name escapes me. He's still rich and still in the N.B.A

UK will see this thing through with Shabazz but I maintain that Pollard is as good a fit for UK as anyone in the 2012 class.

  • I wouldn't back off of Shabazz (and I don't think Cal has any intention of doing that, unless more details emerge that take it out of his hands) but at this point I don't think I'd lose any sleep over him. He's a great player, but there are plenty of good options still on the board. Noel is the key. Land him and either one of Bennett/Pollard, and UK is No. 1 again next year.

  • Yea, I rambled a lot in that last post but that is what I was trying to say. Get us our big man to replace Davis and Bennett (because hes a man child that can shoot) and it shouldn't really matter especially if mkg comes back. I was on that train of thought because I just know that if given a chance the ncaa would love to get at Kentucky. They always watch Cal like a Hawk. I truely and honestly believe Cal is running one of if not the cleanest programs around. He doesnt need to cheat to get players. However if he has to come up and vacate anything due to something like the Rose situation, well thats pretty much his a$$. So why not take Pollard a little taller a little more versatile. Blocks shots like a demon and shoots the ball pretty well. I think maybe and this is puts me in the lower percintile but I like his game better.

I would love to have Pollard no matter what. He would come in very handy if we land Bazz, but he has to sit out 6-10 games. He can mix it up inside, but is a heck of a slasher also. While he hasn't got a money three, it isn't bad and while he may not be an ideal 2G offensively, I think he has the length and quickness to be the guy who can come in and guard a 2G or PG iike Liggens or MkG.

    Teague/Harrow
    Mohammed/Goodwin
    Poythress/Pollard
    Wiltjer/Bennett
    Noel/Cauley

    Works for me (I'm greedy).
