CatsPause Commentary: Are better football days ahead?

  • If we can beat UL then watch out, we could springboard to 7-8 wins but lose game 1 and i see 5 wins most

  • UK has a good staff, the problem is they are very young. It will be fun to see how this team reacts to adversity and grows from it.

  • 2012 is a tricky season to predict as far as W and L 's. It is tough in the SEC as it is , then the 4 teams with byes and bunnies before UK is going to make it tough to render 6 wins. Barring injury, I think the team will play better, and down the road in 13 and 14 , I could see UK winning 7 to 9. This year is going to be a tough one with youth, lack of proven depth, and all the 2 week prep teams that we face. Good times will be back. Maybe even this year. We have some talent, but they are so young.

I agree it's tough to predict this season. But I think the biggest thing is to show progress, the offense should look much better with some young play-makers, the defense should continue to play aggressive and cause even more turnovers than last year. I think that is the most important thing to continue the momentum we have in recruiting by showing improvement on the field (which may or may not result in more wins) and be more competitive game to game in the SEC.
