We'll have to agree to disagree on LeBron. I always read and heard that his bread and butter was driving to the hole, but I never heard anyone list any concerns about any part of his game. He was a lead-pipe lock of a superstar. No question. With MKG, I think a lot of his upside depends on how significantly he can add a consistent perimeter threat to his game, and with his form, that's going to be kind of challenging IMHO. However, Jason Kidd may have entered the NBA with one of the worst Js ever (one fan in Washington used to bring a sign to games that said "_ason Kidd") but he ranks among the all-time leaders in 3s made now. So you never know... I'll be rooting for him to prove me wrong in a big way.

I know this is probably going to spark a huge debate but I just think there are a lot of similarities between MKG and Tim Tebow.
Neither is the most polished at what they do but the effect they are going to have on your team is going to be tremendous and I still think MKG can develop into a very, very good NBA player. Whatever he isn't able to do now, you know he's going to put in the work to get better.

You can go ahead and add Derrick Rose and Lebron James to that list as well. Both have dramatically improved their jumpers since coming in the league. Granted, James came out of high school, but I think we are forgetting how young MKG is. He isn't much older than James was then.
IMO his age just adds to his ceiling, and his value.

MKG has great ability. But the problem is there are a ton of players in the NBA with those same abilities. FAST, GREAT SLAHER, REBOUNDER and D. But most of them can shoot the rock.
You have to pick a player who has all the tools right now and or will develop them very soon. MKG may do that. But a jump shot is the hardest thing to develop. Just my OP. -

Some of the greatest players in the history of the game have been nothing but serviceable jump shooters. At this point in his career I would already consider MKG serviceable and there is no doubt he can get better. You can't teach the things he does well and you can teach the things he doesn't do well. You just don't get it. Come to terms with that and understand that you are 100% wrong on this subject.

I agree with dville here. Great shooters just have it. Sure, you can work on it and improve it several people have. I'm sure Shaq worked on shooting free throws but at the end of the day he was still a horrible free throw shooter. If improving shooters was so easy there would be a lot more centers taking 3's.

That's going to be one tough call when it's down to brass tacks. You've got one guy with a ton of intangibles and one guy without. But one guy with questions about his shooting and another guy who could be a really strong perimeter scorer.
Personally, I go with MKG, but I can definitely see an NBA team talking themselves into Barnes based on the rationale I've offered earlier in this thread.

LBJ is an average shooter at best. Mkg has terrible form but he does have extraordinary work ethic do I'm sure he will improve his shot. Just don't think it will ever be great with his form. That said I would still take him over Barnes because of defense, leadership, and intensity.
