I much prefer a coach who has experience at this level and has shown to be successful at this level. They also better be able to either know how to coach an SEC quality D, or be able to bring in a DC who can. Anybody watch Bama-LSU last night? There is a reason the SEC has the last 6 National Championships. I think the whole scenario of Fulmer with Zook as his DC is very intriguing. Also they are both well known by HS coaches throughout the southeast, so it shouldn't be difficult to get their feet into the doors of the right schools for recruiting. Same for Tuberville, experience and success at each stop, and Neal Brown proving to be a very good coordinator. David Cutcliffe? Who do you think was directing all of those UT offenses during the bulk of Fulmers service at UT? I really don't like the idea of hiring a guy who has not done this, on this stage, before. This is too important for UK for us to be someones testing ground, again. And as far as the word "retread", I would see it more as "experienced". Which is a good thing imho.

Put me down to agree with Fulmer but only with Zook

Concerning Bobby Petrino , any coaches image and other related matters in hiring the new UK football coach :

# 1 - Isn't it possible the man has hit a wall and finally learned from his past mistakes .

# 2 - College football in particular is the most cut throat of all college sports and you must have that type disposition / personality to succeed in recruiting and all other phases of the total program .

# 3 - I think we've got another coach on campus that has played out fairly well who came to us with a little baggage in the integrity department .

# 4 - I'm under the understanding were trying to hire the best football coach available not the best choir director , husband , or father . Rick Pitino seems to have recovered nicely from his scandal as well .

# 5 - This is the most important of the (5) remarks i'll make . The head football coaching position of UK football is only a small part of the problem and when all is said and done for this program to be fairly successful on a consistent basis it's actually pretty far down the list of things to address as long as UK is in the SEC and it appears that will be pretty far into the future .
