Yeah, I don't think Woodson is even technically a "GA" at this point (he's probably a "student assistant" as he has yet to graduate). That said, if you watch the sidelines at all, you can tell he is really working hard and very involved in what they do. And the offensive coaching staff should feel very fortunate that he is there to help. Hopefully Andre parlays this experience into a GA spot at a good school, and then eventually a full-time coaching job.

Funny, I remember people posting all over all the msg boards about wanting Joker as our HC one day... What's that gotten him? If I'm any former player here I stay away until I prove myself elsewhere at the position.

I agree with Drum. We cant afford to make anymore coaching mistakes at this point and I love Tee but he is inexperienced at that position right now. In fact he is a hell of recruiter but never played WR and so is struggling I think to learn it.
We have to hit a home run.
Leach would bring Calipari calibre cred to this program over night.
Joker could play the role of Brooks when he hired/promoted Belotti.
SUDDENLY Joker is a hot item in the HC circuit because:

The mark of a winning HC and for that matter that of a successful CEO in business is that he/she surrounds himself with assistants that are proven winners and better than he in his area of expertise.
This is the difference in those that are two insecure to hire people better and those that are wise enough and EXPERIENCED enough to understand he will make or break his career.
He is going to fade with Sanders if he is too narrow-minded to do this.
I may not know about any contracts Randy has that preclude this move but he has to go if we are going to have a competitive OC and improve.
He just doesnt have the playcalling skills.
OTW, Cutcliffe does and proved it at UT but he would not come here I dont think. I know he is on the hotseat two but being an OC is not the same as being a HC.
Remember this: you can be a technical genius at your technical specialty. And be a horrible manager of men and institutions because it takes a completely different skill set and some just are born without it.
Such is Joker. He doesnt have the wherewithall to recommend the hire of Leach.

I understand what you're saying, and I don't disagree.

What I am saying is, though, that it doesn't matter how old he is or how young he is. The only two people that would definitively know if he's ready to be an offensive coordinator or not are Tee Martin and Joker Phillips. So if it comes to pass that UK is looking for a new offensive coordinator this offseason, I wouldn't be surprised if Tee Martin got the job, and I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't. But for any of us to say things like, "Oh, he's too young!" or "He's not ready for that job!" would be foolish. Maybe he is. Even using his current credentials, none of us have any idea how he'd be as an offensive coordinator. It is a completely different job. Guys could be incredible position coaches and lousy coordinators, and guys could be lousy position coaches and incredible coordinators. The jobs aren't all that similar.

And that's not to say I think UK should hire him even if they thought he were ready. There would certainly be advantages to an outside hire. All I'm saying is, none of us know one way or the other.

Of course this is all very hypothetical.

No decent head coach will come to a school like UK if they see they are going to get a whopping 2 years to turn things around. None. Think about what your saying man, we aren't a typical SEC team. There are very real and specific challenges for any coach who comes here to overcome. Again, no coach worth having is going to come here when they see that we gave a Home grown, blue bleeding guy only 2 freaking years to show he can turn things around.

That being said, if we were to absolutely get stomped in every remaining game this year and continue the trend next year, then maybe he will be gone.
