  • Well, the weekend is starting off pretty good for the Cats. 3-star DT/OT Lovell Peterson has just committed to Kentucky. Peterson is part of the Ohio pipeline that was so important for Kentucky to recruit. Stoops has owned the state so far and doesn’t look to be close to done. Here’s a profile I did of Peterson a couple weeks ago after looking at his film:

-Lovell Peterson Height:6’3″ Weight:280 lbs High School: Wayne (OH) Overview: With the tandem of Warford and Smith heading for the NFL, there’s a definite void in the interior of the Cats’ offensive line. Peterson, a two-way player in high school (defensive tackle), will play either center or guard at the next level. Looking at his tape, his main objective in the running game is to absolutely punish linebackers… and he does it well. Peterson is an aggressive, interchangeable offensive lineman that would be a great signing. He also recently made a trip to Lexington.

Some other huge news… t Franklin County WR Ryan Timmons has cancelled his Ohio State visit. Timmons has been looking for an offer from OSU for a while and maybe this is him giving up on the process. This is great news, as Kentucky was pretty much neck and neck with Ohio State for his services.

  • Future is looking bright at UK. I would like Timmons to pull the trigger and Samples to join him.

Peterson looks to be an awesome get by CMS and I hope this is just the beginning of a busy weekend.

  • Let's just say Brown feels very, very, very confident about Timmons!!!

  • Timmons and Samples in the slots. I'd like to see them add another bigger receiver (like Montgomery, Cumberlander or Blue) join Yancey as outside guys, giving them a full 4-receiver set.

  • Possible WR 3-deep (and yes, I do have Whitlow and Harmon moving to WR)?

    WR...Demarcus Sweat..........Jalen Whitlow...................Alex Montgomery
    SL....Demarco Robinson.......JD Harmon.......................Ryan Timmons..............Austin Sheehan
    SL....Daryl Collins..................Bookie Cobbins................Ra'Shaad Samples
    WR...AJ LeGree....................Rashad Cunningham........Deangelo Yancey

Will be interesting on how it plays out. I don't see Harmon moving positions, especially after the subtraction of Caffey and Reed. I like the trio of Sweat, Collins and Robinson while Legree showed some potential as well. Regardless, some WR will need to step up. Tech had 9 different WR with 15+ catches last year while Kentucky will have 2 guys who have 15+ catches in their college career.
