Former IU commit should have 3 to play 3. Had a ton of tackles for JUCO but that doesn't mean a lot. Count me in the group that's skeptical of all the sudden JUCO offers.
While I am one that is never in favor of juco recruiting as a long-term strategy, it can be useful to fill holes and provide depth. So far, UK will sign 2 jucos this December, Bailey and Brown. It is likely they may sign two more, Pierce and a LB. As I've said before, there is talent on campus to fill the void left at OT, as well as filling the holes left by Trevathan and Guy, albeit the talent is young and unproven. But, there is little depth at any of those spots. What the staff is doing is bringing in players that can provide depth at a minimum as well as provide competition this spring in order to promote growth at those positions. There is nothing wrong with that and the move should not be criticized. Plus, many of these prospects are 3-to-play-3 jucos that have talent. Those are hard to find. At this point, we need to relax and see what these players bring to the table in the spring.

People talk about Jucos filling holes and being instant help? How many Jucos help their first year if at all? My problem with Jucos is they take at least a year to contribute and adjust. Most have nominal impact at best. How anyone could see something positive with all of these Juco offers is beyond me. This isn't a program on probation. Supposedly we had come off 5 bowl games so we were told the program was on a solid foundation.
I agree that this next year is it for these coaches. Another losing season and they are gone. I also like the 3 to play 3 guys. They are two years out of HS and have been involved in structured training and coaching that is superior to almost all HS situations so they are more likely to help immediately than any but the most elite HS kids. I like these guys, I would hope they are really looking for a dynamic CB.
