Aaron Gordon added the Oregon Ducks to his new list of 4 recently which IMO means KY slips even further behind the 3 west coast teams that remain on his list. He had previously removed the Ducks but decided to put them back on b/c he liked what he was seeing out of them this season. I am stating here and now IMO UK wont get any of the 3 remaining prospects still on Cals wish list in the spring. They have seem to have distanced themselves from UK since the Cats have 6 already in their 2013 class. There is still a possibility that UK could pull 1 out but it wont be Gordon and I feel pretty confident in saying that.
Another sleepydog original.
Relax. We're two months from signing day. It will be fine.
Why are you so quick to put Oregon in front of UK? And have never understood your doomsday mentality when it comes to UK basketball recruiting. Cal has a pretty good track record if you haven't noticed.
If I recall correctly, you said UK would be lucky to get one of its top targets in 2013. UK has gotten 5 5-stars.

Here's what I think.
Out of Gordon, Wiggins, Randle, WCS, Wiltjer, Poythress, Harrow
2 of those guys will be on the roster next season IMO, added to Johnson, Lee, Young, and the twins.
I'd prefer one of Wiltjer or Randle and one of Gordon, Wiggins or Poythress.
Actually to be honest with that team I think Gordon or Poythress would make us more balanced than Wiggins despite Wiggins being clearly the best player of the bunch.
As good as he is, James Young is more than capable of getting the job done at the 3. Wiggins might be the only small forward better than Young in the country next season. And Poythess and Gordon are better equipped to play more minutes at the 4 and might give us more versatility defending.

Out of the group of players you listed I am most intrigued with what Harrow will do next year. With Andrew H. coming in he will be the starting PG without a doubt and Harrow will have to decide whether to try his luck in the NBA draft or come back and be a backup PG. The decision that he will make is beyond any guess I could make at this moment. Wiltjer, since his basketball rebirth this season will return next year and will make that team very dangerous. The perimeter game of next years team will be all but unstoppable and the the front court will be in great hands with Lee and Johnson being available. The wildcard is if any of the rest of this years team returns if so KY will be super talented and very, very deep. I think some have misunderstood what I intended to say in the opening post and hope we do get 1 or more of the 3 remaining recruits in the spring but I just have my doubts about that happening.
Chris, do you think that Cal will get Gordon to come east then, and although he is the best recruiter in the business by far how good of a chance do you see him having to get Randle and/or Wiggins percentage wise? Thanks
So because we have had a decent year instead of a dominate year we are losing ground lol. Come on sleepy lets wait and see what this team does the rest of the way. Right now we are looking better and better wouldn't put a knife in this team just yet.
I dont think this teams record has anything to do with if we get any of the 3 recruits this spring. I dont think KY has fallen at all in the recruiting part of the program in fact it seems to get better each year. I was just commenting that it looks iffy if we get 1 or more of the 3 big guys still on the board. I hope we get all 3 but I think we all know that wont happen. Cal has had 1 of the best classes ever recruited in the class of 2013. If he adds more in the spring then great but as I said earlier I think Gordon will stay west but I sure would be happy to see him in the UK blue and white next year and that will make UKs class the best ever no doubt.
