I've been around for a long time, I know several of you guys, and I've just know realized something that maybe few other have.
I used to live and breath the NBA. ABSOLUTEY loved it.
Then I slowly started caring less and less about the reg season and over the last few years have cared very little at all (save he playoffs..thy have been great)
These are sentiments that have been shared by many here. But Cal is dumping so many Wildcats into the association that more and more BBN fans are becoming NBA fans again. Before I moved from my beloved Lexington back in April, I was seeing Washington Jersey, Sactown, Detroit, even Derek Rose jersey. Its funny, once Cal came to KY, its like BBN fans feel like Rose is now a cousin to our program. Lol.
We (well those still in state) will undoubtedly see Hornets and Bobcat jerseys soon as well as what ever team gets one of the biggest steals of the draft in D. Miller
Cal has not only brought UK back as he IT school as well as being the king of the mountain, but he's bringing some of the worst franchises in the NBA new fans by the groves.
There is a real real chance that both he Charlotte Bobcats and New Orleans Hornets could be in the top five in Jersey sales this upcoming season...wow.
There for a while, Wildcats in the NBA were becoming a dying breed. Now, the league is inundated with former Cats.
My how things have changed.
The more UK players that go to the NBA the more this state will become fans of the NBA. The majority won't really care for team x,y, or z but rather will cheer for the teams that have their favorite UK players. That's pretty much how it's always been around here and I can't see that changing.
The Kentuckyeffect will help the NBA to sell a ton more jerseys for sure.
I've always been a NBA fan. So nothing new for me. Although it has changed the amount of watchable teams in the league for me.
Exactly. Just in the last 2-3 years you can tell a huge swell in NBA interest around this state. It's pretty cool.
Also, I think it's helping dispel myths ("They don't play any defense.") about the league. People are getting to see what a high level these guys play at on both ends of the floor.

The best teams in the league play great defense. But the "skill level" in the Nba is still way down. The athleticism is up
I don't know if its a "skill level" issue as much as it is a "fundamentals" issue as so many kids cone out early now but you may be right. As for athleticism, this very well could be the most athletic NBA we have ever witnessed.
We are on same page. Skills=fundamentals.
I was pretty sure that's where you were going. Lol.
It still cracks me up that a few years ago we agreed on NOTHING and had some of KI's best debates, and now...I cant remember the last time we disagreed on anything. Lol
Its nice to see you have grown up a bit and finally seen the light my old internet friend. Hahaha!
The infusion of UK players into the NBA only gives me more box scores to look at in the morning paper. As far as watching, my interest level hovers slightly above zero. Got a game 7? I'll try to catch the last 3 minutes or so.
That myth drives me crazy. There is no doubt there are some lazy defenders in the league, but they're a minority. Most of the players are so good offensively that they can just about score on anyone.
There are two things that make a pro, two things that separate the pros from every other player in the world;
Making open jump shots and playing D...period.
Couldn't agree more with this.
GET A DAMN ROOM!!!
maybe you should get married lol
Thank you for not screaming. Lol
Yeah, i watched in aw during MJ era.
Then i hated the lakers dynasty with Shaq, Kobe, and...Horry (arggg hated him).....caring less...
Then Spurs bore me to death....caring less...
Then rise of Celtics sparked my interest a little, especially with Rondo. I got excited.
Now...I can't imagine in 3-4 years we will be seeing UK players after players. Get's me pumped. I really enjoyed watching Bledsoe play this post season.
I agree with this.
It's lack of fundamentals. I think this is part due to one and done and because players don't stay in college for 3-4 years.
This comment makes sheds a lot more light on the Kobe thread.
