Littrell strikes out a pair with a runner on 1st; Miss. State 2, UK 1; B-6th
Not sure on explanation but coaches approved the format. Doesn't make sense to me either. But I'm guessing with 10-team event and already lasting 6 days if you advance all the way to final it is partially to protect young arms.
Michael Williams and A.J. Reed are having really tough days at the plate today. Neither seems to be seeing ball very well.

Kentucky has another smoked ball knocked down and turned into a double play. Been that kind of day for Cats through 6 innings.
Also, not sure I understand this move but Kentucky putting Taylor Rogers on mound for the 7th. He was expected to be starter tomorrow if Cats won today. No idea why Henderson isn't using any of his considerable bullpen arms (Peterson, Gott, Mahar, etc.).
Riddle loses pop up in sun and has it hit him in head to start 7th. State goes SAC bunt route for 4th time today to move runner to 2B w/ 1 out. It's led to run 2 of other 3 times.
Come on Cats!! Let's get this W!
Rogers walks a batter, falls behind 3-0 on next guy but comes back to get the strikeout. Runners on 1st/2nd, 2 outs; T-7th
Rogers works his way out of jam with back to back Ks; Miss. State 2, UK 1; B-7th
SEC honoring former Florida great Brad Wilkerson, who is from Owensboro, KY; Played against him in Legion ball. Probably best I faced.
UK's inability to get down a SAC bunt hurts it again. Been a problem all year. Wastes a leadoff single and chance to move runner into scoring position for top of order. McCarthy flies out to end inning. Yet another scoring chance that goes up in smoke. MSU 2, UK 1; T-8th
An easy 8th inning for Rogers. Cats still trail 2-1 with only 6 outs remaining.
Another tough inning for the Cats. Maile Ks for 2nd time today. Reed singles. Williams Ks for third time (all have been ugly too). Then Riddle, the only player who has hit well today, scorches a ball that is run down in RCF gap. It would have scored pinch runner Brian Adams from first with tying run.; UK trails 2-1 headed to 9th
Miss. State is 31-0 with the lead entering the 9th. Bulldogs' closer is one of nation's best. Hasn't allowed a run in something like 26 innings.
Another leadoff hit for State in Top 9th. Another SAC bunt. 5th time State has executed that today. Cats failed to do same in 7th.
Come on, Cats. Pull this one out!
Keep Calm & Stoops On..
State moves runner over to 3B with 2 outs. Henderson going to Trevor Gott to try and get the 3rd out and keep deficit at 1. Huge run at 3B.
Gott does his job. Cats down to final 3 outs trailing 2-1. Bottom of the order (Witt, Zellers, Reida) coming up.
Come on bats. Let's get some runs.
Reida wont bat..

Well, Kentucky got the break it needed to have a chance against MSU closer. Throwing error by 3B puts Witt on. Can UK get SAC bunt down?
Zellers gets the SAC bunt down. Moves Witt to 2B with one out. Cameron Flynn pinch hitting for Reida. Cousino on deck.
Flynn grounds out to 2B. Witt moves to 3B. Austin Cousino, the Cats spark plug all year, up with 2 outs.
FINAL: Miss. State 2, Kentucky 1; Cats missed entirely too many chances today and John Cohen is the nemesis yet again.
That's been the story for the majority of games the last month or so.
If the Cats never see John Cohen in other dugout again they'll be thrilled. UK was 1-4 against MSU this year, 19-9 against rest of SEC.
