Guys, Chris mentioned this sophomore from Caldwell County, Elijah Sindelar. Just watched the video here. You should as well. What arm strength and presence. I mean I was astounded. Interested to here feedback from others.
Caldwell County High School Football Clips from State Championship and others.
The state of Kentucky produces quarterbacks like few other states.
Who am I forgetting?
Chris Redman and the Brohms from Louisville.
Well, hate to admit this, but Chris Redmon was pretty good and held on in the league as a backup for a longtime.
Damn. That kid is good.
Keep Calm & Stoops On..
One big thing working for uk... His head coach is a Franklin descendent. (It's where tony is from, caldwell county). One thing working against him is that the family is supposedly uofl fans.
I wouldn't be surprised to see cal and Franklin come after the kid.
Family is not UL fans, sindelar moved here from Ohio. He is a tremendous young man, and will lead a very talented team this fall, to a state championship game, imho. Coach Barnes is close to Tony, and Elijah is very comfortable in the system, i think what we will run this year with CNB will be very similar to what we run. Sindelar will have 6 years in it by the time he graduates, as our middle school runs the same offense
I honestly don't know Sindelar's favorite university, but I do know UK staff likes him. He is such a quality kid, great leader, with all the talent to boot, and the frame. He will undoubtedly be the biggest recruit this region has seen in a long time.
Jalen Boyd may be a D1 recruit as well. He will be a junior to. Jalen is a hard runner, with good hands. Keep an eye on him as well
I am a football junkie, heck watching the NFL network right now. So, I feel like besides playing, just being a student of the game at all levels, I was floored by this kids arm and field composure. Now, those are highlights of course, but he is relaxed and can just sling that ball with what looks like to me with great mechanics.
He is the epitome of what we are looking for in terms of talent at QB, just like Barker. If he is half the kid Barker is in terms of character, watch out.
He has mentioned in Interviews that he is a uofl fan and that his entire family is, I'll try to find the link.
Edit: article from another site says he is an Ohio state fan along with the rest of his family and is a urban meyer fan. Also says he is a Louisville fan.
I have to think they our system and him growing up in it will be a HUGE draw.

Agree Hoptown, think that has to play a huge role in his ultimate decision. Got so much excitement going on right now, I have never been so constantly obsessed with the the football recruiting.
This kid has the chance to be a game changer, but right now, Matt Elam is the rightful focus. We need him right now to come onboard. That line with his addition in a couple years starts to shore up our long suffering lack of run stop.
Three interesting receivers in those clips too (10, 23 & 80).
Thanks for sharing the info, Bob.. Do you know what part of Ohio originally from?
Hey Bob I know a guy that used to play a little football at Caldwell County. I actually played grade school football with him. His name is Anthony Deason. Do you know him?
To me, the most impressive thing (of many) was the way he puts the ball where only the receiver can catch it. He threw a couple of questionable passes, but they seemed to end up almost always with the receiver's body between the defender and the ball. IMHO, he looked excellently composed for a 10th Grader. Don't know about the competition level, though. Is he a UK fan??
Not familiar with the name. I'm a 88' alum. I Played for Coach Gates.
Returned back home in 06'. Have a relative who is a junior in this class, who is very talented and tough as well. Watched these boys play from middle school on. Pretty special group of kids. Talented, hard working, coachable and play as a team.
Would have really liked to have played in this offense back in the day.
We have a very, very talented young golfer who just completed her freshman season at Alabama. Word around here is she aint the only athlete to be courted by the Tide.
We'll see what happens, still two years to go.
Yeah he would have graduated in '03. Caldwell County used to be in Muhlenberg's South's district in football and they used to beat up on us pretty good. Muhlenberg County hasn't had a good football team for a long time. But I hope one of my buddies is helping change that. He's helping coach. Its a basketball county.
