Former HC at Northwestern State
This post was edited by lleycat7304 16 months ago
I also hear that John Schlarman from Troy is coming
So, Is Summers not being retained?
Maybe John is coming to coach TE's
what kinda hire is this?? good in coaching or recruiting or both.. Curious. Never heard of him
Peveto is a former DC & ST coach at LSU.
Things should begin moving faster now. Schlarman is supposed to be a rising young coach. He has coached OL's and TE's. He has been Troy's running game coordinator as of late.
Brown, Schlarman & Scott would give the new staff three former UK players.

Read somewhere - good position coach and good recruiter, but bad coordinator.
FYI....Northwestern State is in Louisiana
And....Jimbo was seriously considering adding him to the FSU staff.

He was also special teams coach for LSU awhile back.
WR coach with Brown coaching the QB's. Would love for him to find us a Hunter or Patterson. One thing about Hinshaw from UT or any coaches we might add from Texas Tech, their HC's are no longer at those schools so they might be more inclined to bring along former commitments from those schools.

Don't think Summers will be retained.
Damn. He was the 1 guy I was rooting for.
Anyone know what type of recruiter Peveto is? Besides Louisiana (UK won't get many kids from there), what other states does he have ties in?
Found this from an article on his recruiting at Northwestern St:
"He did a great job with our players," O'Shea said. "He was a high-energy guy who had a lot of enthusiasm about him."
That energy has been in evidence since Peveto took the NSU job after the 2008 season. Coming off a four-year stint at LSU, where he was a linebackers coach/special teams coordinator on the 2007 national championship team, Peveto hustled up a recruiting class that got the attention of the Southland Conference.
Rivals.com ranked the 2009 NSU recruiting class No. 1 in the nation among Football Championship Subdivision Schools. Peveto also landed transfers from the likes of Texas Tech (receiver Adrian Reese), Nebraska (running back Quintin Castile of La Porte), West Virginia (defensive tackle D.J. Shaw), Louisville (quarterback Tyler Wolfe) and Washington (linebacker Bradley Roussel).
The Northwestern State Demons arent offering empty promises to be worth watching this football season. The Demons are making a quotPeveto Promisequot Any season ticket-holders dissatisfied with their purchase after the first two home games can get a
Here's another from when he took the NSU job that talks a little about his recruiting at LSU (says he was one of Miles two primary recruitiers).
we should be very clear that Peveto was an excellent linebacker coach and recruiter. He was, in fact, one of Miles' primary recruiters along with running backs coach Larry Porter.
This year alone, Bradley Dale Peveto was responsible for the recruitment of 5-star commitment Janzen Jackson, 4-star commitments Drayton Calhoun and Michael Brockers, and 3-star commitment Kevin Minter. Three of those guys are out-of-state recruits, and Peveto has a lot of success in that avenue. He was particularly effective in recruiting Georgia and Texas.
For what it's worth, I think losing Peveto as a recruiter and a linebackers coach is a big blow to us. Even with the expected changes in the coordinator position, I would have liked to keep Peveto on as position coach. Players and recruits love him.
A look at Bradley Dale Peveto and the upcoming coaching changes at LSU.
Here's a list of the 2008 Troy St. Coaching staff. Notice three familiar names?
Larry Blakeney – Head Coach
Shayne Wasden - Assistant Head Coach
Neal Brown – Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks*************
Jeremy Rowell – Defensive Coordinator/Secondary
Randy Butler – Defensive Ends/Recruiting Coordinator
Maurea Crain – Defensive Line
Kenny Edenfield – Inside Receivers
Benjy Parker – Linebackers
John Schlarman – Offensive Line***********
Chad Scott – Running Backs ***********
Richard Shaughnessy – Strength and Conditioning
John Clay tweeted something about us getting Tennessee's WR's coach
On his Rivals coach profile, it says he was responsible for pulling in a bunch of 3*s, a 4*, and a 5* during his stint at LSU. Most of his recruits came from Georgia and Louisiana.
Been a Cat fan since August of '92
Darin Hinshaw coming from UT, per Brian Eldridge on twitter, wonder if he will be the qb or WR coach.
Has pulled in multiple 4 stars in his time UT. If he can bring in half as many he could help flip our roster.
WR's, believe the OC will coach QB's
I don't always post but when I do, I try to make things interesting
