Really can't believe they would stoop that low...
Pretty insightful, I'd say...if we're too thin-skinned to take some "tasteful" kidding, that makes us kinda pathetic!
I just haven't been a big fan of that paper. Nothing against Steve and Kyle now, but I was never a fan of Eric Crawford and Jody Demling. Demling came across as very condescending and they were biased towards UL.
I don't see what's distasteful about it. It's nothing but the truth, and the truth is often painful.
They actually have "Get well soon, Nerlens" in the corner of the full sized picture. You can see it in a post on Kentucky Sports Radio
This cartoon is a really just a swipe at the rest of the team, which is something that the posters on this site have been doing for months.
The Curious Urinal is a step below even the LHL in my book - if nothing else, because of their simpering fear of turtleneck
I thought the message was pretty clear. Nothing deflammatory about it.
"Lighten up Francis!"
It's spot on, many fans and experts alike think UK is likely headed to the NIT since Noel's injury. There is nothing wrong with that cartoon.
I do agree. However did they make fun of Tricky Ricky on the table ?????
But yea it is what it is. However it makes great chalk board material. Love to see UK go to the big dance to show them up.
Gotta love that line. LIGHTEN UP FRANCIS. However when I use it on this board it pisses them off. lol.
That quote is a great quote from a classic movie! How can anyone get upset at it?
Hey, I wish the Louisville media would take their program to task too but they don't. It's the way it is and bitching and moaning about it hasn't changed anything in 15 years.
I guess I may be different but I don't think you make fun of a kids injury. The courier in my opinion stepped on the line. If we would have lost a kid to academics or some type of legal problem, then fine but do not make light or fun of an injury. If you want to put a cartoon in about us going to the NIT then fine but do not include a kids injury in cartoon. I think this just shows what everyone knows, the courier is a puppet on a string to tommy turtleneck. They can make fun all they want but they can't remember the last time they won a national championship....

Look, its the CJ, who cares. Guys, forget those guys and focus on the future. This banter over this stuff is just tiddlywinks.
How, pray tell, are they making fun of Noel?
Spot on about Demling Josh...the guy is a huge mega doucher.
Funny. UofL fans think the CJ has traditionally been biased toward UK and visa versa. Guess they're doing their jobs.
And I think that cartoon was in poor taste.
Maybe historically, but in the last decade the CJ has been a joke in terms of bowing to Jurich. The Clint Hurtt situation is absolute proof of that.
Just in poor taste to make a cartoon out of a serious season-ending injury to a college athlete. Agree with the OP, injuries to student athletes are not funny and should not be material for jokes. Classless
due process? For a newspaper? LMAO! Let me know when they apply that standard to UK.
A newspaper's job in many cases is to do their own investigations in these situations. I wouldn't expect a uofl fan to understand that concept. Anybody who argues that the Cj isn't a lapdog for uofl is ignoring reality.
They're not making fun of the injury. They're just saying what that injury does to this team and they're correct.
Most of you apparently can't catch the subtle nuances of the cartoon, but the artist was actually being quite complimentary of Noel by suggesting that we aren't nearly the team without him as we are when he is healthy. Just FYI, that isn't making light of his injury. In fact, it's just the opposite.
