I said this in the live feed, but I'll say it again. The ND court storming was really classless, as is any court storming, IMO. I think a court storming should be an automatic fine no questions asked.
I love the court storm just like the field storm in football (UK has had a few of those). Let the kids have some fun.
It shows it doesn't take much to satisfy them. They sure didn't beat a good team.
We do it in football all the time. Relax, its a compliment.
I don't see a problem with storming the court as long as you don't hurt people in the process. I think it is funny that some UK fans get mad about storming the court when it is done against them but yet in football when UK rushes the field it is ok.
IDK its always going to happen and not too much you can do about it. Maybe it will give these guys a little extra motivation to not let this happen again
I have no problem with it as long as you can keep oppossing players safe. I hope our players gotta a good view of it and can learn that have to play hard every game and every possesion
Storming the court should take place when something special happens and this really wasnt that special. This wasnt a buzzer beater and they didnt beat an undefeated team and for goodness sake its still November not March and the NCAA tourney or even a conference championship. Should KYs fans have stormed the field when the f-ball Cats beat Samford(sorry, bad example). I agree with the person who said that player safety should come first, and I reference the IU game last year.
There is one sure way to stop it ... win the game. I agree that it's classless though. Those are 18 year olds and up acting like kids.
I dont know how old you are but Im old enough to consider 18 year olds kids. I think there is a time and place to storm the court but tonight wasnt one.
My biggest concern is the player safety issue, but still I think its classless I don't care if its UK football or ND basketball or any other college sport. I just say stay where you are and cheer your guts out if you want to but act like you at least expected your team to win.
They had not beaten UK in what 25 yrs or so. It is a big win for other teams when they beat UK.
Just like if UK ever should beat a team like Bama in football.
We UK fans are use to just winning in basketball that beating a great program like say UNC or Duke does not mean as much.
UK is every teams top school to beat period.
Students / Kids having a blast when your team upsets a top team is neaver classless neaver ever.
UK like someone said earlier could have prevented this simply by competing. If they had come to play they would have won but there wasnt a light on in their eyes and it showed, with the exception of perhaps Mays. I want to see how they come to play in about 36 hours against Baylor. I would really liked to have heard Cal after the game in the locker room and how he handled the team.
I don't know, you are comparing a school who is 40-1 since February 2010, to a school(UK) who hadn't beaten another school(TN) in 26 years. If I was ND, I would have acted like it was no big thing but WE r KENTUCKY.
He wasn't happy on the news, he felt that the one thing that happened that he didn't expect was....they didn't compete. And he was very upset with that.
They beat us in 2009.
everybody beat us in 2009, lol. But this is the new big time UK program now.
Big Diff my friend. Def NC to boot
Complaining about this really sounds like sour grapes. Let them have their fun. We'll have our fun in March.
I wouldn't call it classless at all but schools storm the court for pretty much anything these days. At the end of the day they're kids.
But ND did beat UK, who was in the top 10 and the defending champs. I've seen a lot worse.
